A rare Antique Sevres Plate set of 3, dated 1844, signed Pinel, featuring the Chateau des Tuilleries and Sevres stamps. The plates are beautifully hand-painted with detailed gilt framing around the rim and a center portrait of a historical woman. Their names are painted on the base of the plates. One is Madame de Pompadour, another appears to be Madame du Barry or Dubois, and one is worn to the point where I am unable to read it.
These plates are a dream for any Sevres porcelain collector. A matching set is hard to come across at this price.
French plates are a great way to elevate your cabinet, server, buffet, or bookcase!.
Maker's marks on the base of each plate.
