The Marshals were targeting a convicted sex offender wanted for failing to register as part of Operation Adam’s Watch.

The fugitive was taken into custody later that day while officials say law enforcement members injured in the collapse are doing well.

Lindsay Clancy's defense could rest as soon as Thursday, attorney Kevin Reddington told Fox News.

Reddington said he planned to finish with two expert witnesses, followed by a hearing on whether a former McLean Hospital employee will be allowed to testify. "Tomorrow I may rest," he said.

A frantic search for two young Atlanta sisters ended with officers finding both girls locked in the back of a trailer in sweltering temperatures.

The girls’ mother told police she had left the children with a babysitter, Lakesha Brown, while she went out to dinner.

But when she returned home, Brown and the children were gone. After the mother was unable to reach Brown, she called the police and launched a full-scale search for her daughters.

Officers eventually located both children unharmed and arrested Brown. She now faces two counts of kidnapping and two counts of first-degree cruelty to children.

Democratic Rep. Jimmy Gomez is facing a sexual assault allegation from a woman interviewed as part of the House Ethics Committee investigation into his past conduct.

The woman's attorneys dispute Gomez’s claim that the encounter between the two was consensual, while Gomez acknowledges making “mistakes” outside his marriage but maintains his actions did not violate the law or House ethics rules.

Fairfax County Assistant Police Chief Rachel Levy lays out what investigators say happened before Carmen Lizet Puch was stabbed to death at a park in a DC suburb.

Police allege that Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, an illegal alien from El Salvador, killed Puch in a premeditated attack.

Officials reveal that Cedillos-Campos left the restaurant where he and the victim worked with a fixed-blade knife, latex gloves, and a water bottle which he eventually filled with gasoline.

Levy says the suspect repeatedly stabbed the victim, doused her in gasoline, and unsuccessfully tried to set her on fire.
