@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc we both know you don't believe what you just said. i said 'better goalscorer'
the comparison is simple, ask any sane football fan who the better goalscorer is, none would mention Jorginho despite him scoring more goals...
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc those 21 goals were scored in 55 games, if he's not offering anything else to the team, then he's not at the level
it also doesn't change the fact that top managers/teams require more than just 'goals' from strikers in their systems
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc Gyok averaged 0.8 non penalty goals in Portugal and if the players mentioned played the same number of minutes they would have equalled or surpassed his number of goals
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc That's the point, the goals are slashed because the teams he was scoring against were rubbish. When he has faced PL/Top 5 league teams he hasn't shown that he's anywhere near his competitors.
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc The players I mentioned are all players that are not Arsenal level yet they scored at a similar rate in that league when you equalise for minutes played and non penalty goals. Gyokeres' stats were inflated because he has played more minutes and stat padded with penalties...
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc He won the Gerd Muller whilst playing in Portugal and scoring at a similar rate to Luis Suarez, Simon Banza and Darwin Nunez. Why didn't he win the European Golden Shoe?
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc They would not get on Arsenal's bench and neither should Gyokeres.
Strikers put themselves in position to score goals, not the other way round. Gyokeres hasn't shown he can do that at the elite level.
@yourbiggeshhxs@barnesafc Again, what else did he offer outside those goals?
So? Simon Kjaer finished 17th in 2021 and Scott Mctominay 18th in 2025, doesn't make them good footballers
