@mediocentroEN Bournemouth had a bid for 20+ mil turned down in the summer, really worth paying 25-30? Maybe even more if Brentford are in a strong position come January..
@mediocentroEN That Swedish left back gotta be worth a punt, physical and looked adept in the games he played, then again, world cups can be extremely deceiving in a players quality..
@KieranCPhoto Over the course of the 4 years, they will easily recoup 30/40% (on the fee). Then there's the benefits of the exposure, which won't be directly seen but will certainly be felt in their pockets. Very astute signing.
@liamjmulvey @remigoomba @gunnerpunner But this is just the fee i'm talking about, when you include the likely 100 mil in wages and bonuses, then shirt sales and merchandise won't cover it
@liamjmulvey @remigoomba @gunnerpunner Of course it can, Zlatan's shirt sales was upwards of 100 mil in the first week, say thats around 10-15 mil for united, imagine what that number would be after 4 years, which Juve will have with Ronaldo.
@remigoomba @gunnerpunner Clubs get about 10/15% from shirt sales, which over the course of his stay, will return a big proportion of the fee, however, the biggest benefit for Juve is the exposure they will get, it's just a mixture of marketing and actual business, lets not forget, he's still top 5..
@FootyHipstar Would imagine the time difference doesn’t help, Brazil 4 years ago, peak times for US viewing, Russia this year, early games starting as early as 7am in some areas, then throughout the morning/early afternoon when most people are working, awful comparison
@lester_n_ @suuhdudee@registability It’s all just a ploy to avoid China’s 100% law on players over 7 mil, will probs pay majority of the fee externally and off the books, then 5/10 next year to acquire him fully
@LFCZA They haven't, its a loan, this is exactly why it's doggy, will probs be paying the majority of the fee externally and then the remaining 6/7 mil next summer where its not subject to tax
@ERNESTHDGAMER@XaviTempo_@cruyff90 Which makes it even shadier, Chinese FA have a rule stating any transfers over 7 mil are subject to 100% tax charges. Probably paying a big loan fee externally away from the books and then buy him for 5/10 mil next summer and avoid hefty charges.
@__Barse__ @Niall_McAteer@SquawkaNews Guangzhou probably paying it through third parties or through other means, then next summer I imagine they'll pay the remaining 5/10 mil to acquire him fully.
@__Barse__ @Niall_McAteer@SquawkaNews Basically, china have a rule where clubs who buy a player over 7 mil have to pay 100% tax on that transfer, so if Barca sold Paulinho for 40 mil, Guangzhou would be paying 80 mil, they will never do that, and Barca wont wanna sell for 50% less, not exactly laundering but sly
@FootyHipstar Probs to get around the 100% tax law in china. Imagine they'll pay Barca a sum externally for the loan and then sell for the remaining 5/6 million next summer. No way Guangzhou would pay for what they sold him for as it would cost them double and Barca won't wanna take a 50% hit.
@ShantaLingard @mediocentroEN Leno certainly is, plus he’s young too (for a GK), year or two learning from Cech and we have a gem, I agree with the other two tho, too old, need a big dominating CB
@Altinzzzzzzzzz @mediocentroEN If France or Uruguay win the WC, their main performers automatically go into consideration, hence the two options for their two best players respectively
