💰 The salaries of Arsenal players sold this summer:
Martinelli — £180k/week
Gabriel Jesus — £265k/week
Reiss Nelson — £100k/week
Leandro Trossard — £150k/week
Fabio Vieira — £45k/week
Total: £740k/week — around £38.5m/year, or roughly €45m/year.
🔸This is why these sales were necessary. We’ve cleared a huge amount of wages from the squad while moving on players who were no longer central to the project.
🔸It’s not just about the transfer fees the wage bill matters too.
🔸We’ve done some serious squad cleaning this summer. 🔴⚪️
Your thoughts… #ars
Martinelli, Trossard, Jesus, Vieira, Nørgaard and Nelson — all out this summer. 🔴⚪️
Around £100M generated from player sales and roughly £850K per week wiped off the wage bill.
That’s about £44M a year in wages cleared.
Forget the incoming transfers for a moment — Arsenal have done an incredible job cleaning up the squad.
Deadwood moved on, the wage structure reset, valuable assets monetised and plenty of room created for the next phase.
This might genuinely be Arsenal’s best summer window for outgoings.
Excellent squad management. 👏🔴⚪️
🚨Zlatan on Guendouzi after the Fenerbahçe vs Lyon:
🗣️ I watched the circus. Everybody wants a villain with hair. Fine. I will give you the real order of events,
“People want me to say Guendouzi is a clown. I will not.
I played in France. I know that stadium. I know that rivalry. When 55,000 people start on your mother and your children before the warm-up even finishes, that is not ‘atmosphere.’ That is cheap. In France they stop matches for less. The referee heard it. The fourth official heard it. Nobody said a word. So don’t come now with the moral lecture.
Guendouzi is a Marseille boy in a Lyon house. They chose him as the enemy before kick-off. He played 90 minutes in that noise, his team scored twice away from home, and Fenerbahçe are in the Champions League for the first time in 18 years. That is the job. The rest is theatre.
The Jul sign is not a crime. ‘Allez l’OM’ is not a crime. A middle finger after they sang about his family for an hour and a half is ugly, yes — but it is not the first punch. The first punch was in the stands. If you throw stones for 90 minutes, do not cry when one comes back.
Then a 48-year-old goalkeeping coach runs like Cantona to kick a player. That is not passion. That is a grown man losing his mind because his club just missed the Champions League again. Lyon have been outside the big table for years. Frustration is allowed. A flying kick from the staff is not. Ederson and the others did what teammates do — they stood in front of their guy. That is football. That is loyalty.
Tolisso told him to be humble. Fine. Captains talk. I respect that. But humility is not standing there like a statue while 60,000 people insult your kids. Maturity is also knowing when the other side already crossed the line.
Guendouzi could have walked down the tunnel in silence. That would have been smarter. He didn’t. He is who he is. But if we only punish the player who answers and we ignore the stadium that started it, and we ignore the coach who tried to kick him, then we are not talking about respect. We are talking about who has the better PR.
I don’t love every gesture. I love that he didn’t fold. Lions get booed. Sheep ask for a statement. That is the difference.”
@GTMemorabilia For me we absolutely have enough to win league with squad today. We going into season healthier in attack & stronger in MF, albeit maybe a little drop off in defense until Saliba returns but with Konsa should be fine. For UcL would feel more confident with marquee attacker.
🚨 𝗙𝗨𝗡 𝗙𝗔𝗖𝗧: A masterclass in squad building vs. A masterclass in burning cash.
The £265M Blueprint:
The absolute gold standard of defensive depth in world football right now. Elite scouting, clear identity, and zero wasted pounds.
🧱 William Saliba
🧱 Gabriel Magalhaes
🧱 Ezri Konsa
🧱 Cristian Mosquera
🧱 Benjamin White
🧱 Jurrien Timber
🧱 Riccardo Calafiori
🧱 Piero Hincapie
Meanwhile...
Chelsea’s defensive spending since 2022 is literally double that amount. Nearly half a billion down the drain with absolutely zero stability or results to show for it.
💸 Wesley Fofana
💸 Kalidou Koulibaly
💸 Malo Gusto
💸 Benoit Badiashile
💸 Axel Disasi
💸 Jorrel Hato
💸 Maxence Lacroix
💸 Marco Palestra
💸 Valentin Barco
Total: £430,000,000+ 📉
Recruitment is an art form. Some clubs build a fortress; others just set money on fire.
I know it’s against your work ethics but I need you to make an exception and give me daily updates on this Vinicius Jr to Arsenal story David @David_Ornstein
🚨 Wayne Rooney fires back at Jürgen Klopp over his comments comparing Germany's disallowed goal to Arsenal's set-pieces:
🗣️ “Listen, you can't keep dragging Arsenal into every conversation.
Every time there's a controversial decision, somehow Arsenal become the reference point. It's getting ridiculous.
People spent an entire season trying to discredit Arsenal's set-pieces, calling them lucky, calling them boring and saying they were exploiting the rules.
Now Germany have a goal ruled out after a VAR review, and suddenly Arsenal are being mentioned again.
The two situations aren't the same.
Arsenal's set-pieces were worked on relentlessly on the training ground. They were legal, they were effective, and they played a huge part in Arsenal becoming Premier League champions.
Let's stop being hypocrites. When Arsenal score from a well-worked routine, it's called 'boring football.' When another team is on the wrong end of a VAR decision, Arsenal are somehow blamed for changing the game.
Enough of that.
Give Arsenal credit for what they achieved instead of using them as the benchmark every time football throws up another controversy.”
Arsenal lost a league cos VAR forgot to draw a line for an Ivan Toney equalizer which was an offside, nobody said anything. You all called bottlers
Today, you are crying VAR made a right call cos it favors Arsenal? Keep the tears flowing
Sesko will score more Premier League goals than Gyokeres, Ekitike, Joao Pedro and Delap.
Save this tweet and come back to call me a fool in May, 2026 if it doesn’t happen.
@prettyboygooner@sohiafc9 You are wrong. He includes his own failures, when he missed UCL for three seasons, when he talks about where the club was. Not everyone could have done this as he has.
