Everyone want 100x stock
But Very few can buy through pessimism and disbelief
I still remember the skepticism when Laurus was presented at AlphaIdeas session
Multibaggers are born in pessimism and validated in hindsight
By the time the crowd agrees, the biggest gains are gone
#Lauruslab
Nov’22 - @alphaideas event in Mumbai I said
“Laurus entered the decade at 3000 cr mcap. Will exit at 3 lac cr mcap”
Mcap then was 20k, everyone laughed.
Nov’23 - same event- repeated same statement. Mcap then was 15k - everyone mocked
Nov’25 - same event- again same statement. Mcap was 50k - everyone got serious
Aug’26 - 1 lac cr MCap

Saturday Refresher
Few weeks ago, many investors were trying to identify the beneficiaries of the Coal Gasification theme. Over the next few weeks, many will likely shift their attention to the Samudra Manthan/Deepwater Drilling theme.
That's how markets work, new themes keep emerging, and capital keeps chasing the next big story.
But we don't need to invest across every sector.
Read everything. Learn continuously. Understand emerging trends.
Just don't feel compelled to invest in every theme.
Focus on a handful of sectors, build deep expertise, and let conviction, not FOMO, drive your capital allocation.
Pick a handful of sectors you truly understand, and then rotate across different companies within those sectors based on their earnings cycles.
In my view, having a solid grasp of 4–5 sectors is more than sufficient.
Over the next 3-4 years, sectors like Healthcare/CDMO, Electrification, Precision Engineering (Aerospace, Defence, Semiconductors, Niche Auto), and Premium Consumption offer ample opportunities to deploy capital and rotate between names.
[I am intentially not talking about AI/DC theme😉]
Focus on fewer sectors, but go deep enough to build conviction, so you can allocate meaningfully when the opportunity arises.
Example:
Within the CDMO space, companies like Laurus, Divi's, and Sai Life may currently be in the middle of a strong earnings cycle. But six quarters from now, it could very well be Piramal or Cohance leading the growth. Eight quarters from now, perhaps Viyash could have a strong CDMO engine firing as well.
Similarly, across other sectors, the commercialization of capex doesn't happen at the same time for every company. As new capacities come on stream and utilization improves, different businesses enter their high-growth phase at different intervals.
For example, in Electrification theme, Quality Power and Yash High might enjoy a breakout FY28 due to capex readiness
That's why it pays to understand a sector deeply. You don't have to keep chasing new themes, you can often find your next opportunity within the sectors you already know well.
Disclaimer: The companies mentioned are only for illustrative purposes to explain earnings cycles within a sector. This is not a buy or sell recommendation. Please do your own research before making any investment decisions.

In 2022, I wasn't talking about a stock.
I was talking about a transition.
The move from India being known for copying molecules ... to being known for creating them.
I said, "5 saal ruko", for a select group of CDMO companies. Not the sector as a whole.
2027 isn't the destination. It's when the transition starts becoming visible to everyone.
The game was never about forecasting share prices.
It was about recognising long-duration change before it became consensus.
Prepare. Never predict.
I will share everything.
Heuristic by heuristic.
Mental model by mental model.
Lens by lens.
Frame by frame.
I will make an honest attempt to leave no hungry donkey behind.
I'll control what I can. Never the outcome.
Industrial companies are often perceived by their legacy businesses, while the real long-term value lies in how their product mix evolves over time.
Carborundum Universal Ltd (CUMI) is an interesting example of this transition.
Here's a breakdown of the business, its growth drivers. 🧵
