There has been an abundance of creativity over the last few months. Here is a small selection of the artwork pupils across the school have created during our online art sessions @DownsendSchool#create#keepdrawing
This week’s Artist of the Week is Jasper G in Year 8. Inspired by the work of Slinkachu, an artist who creates very small installations and then photographs them, Jasper set about creating his own miniature scenes... and what incredible results! Well done! @DownsendSchool
Yesterday's Daily Doodle was inspired by Quentin Blake's wonderful rainbow illustrations. Here are a few imaginative creations from Myles H, Jamie H and Sophie M @DownsendSchool @QuentinBlakeHQ
I love these so much! Our Artists of the Week this week are Edward C, Beste D, Francesca B, Grace A and Max A for their colourful ‘dancing’ figures, based on the work of Keith Haring @DownsendSchool
After reading Roald Dahl's description of Mr Twit, Year 4 had a go at drawing their own interpretations of him... and here are some of the brilliant results! Well done Annabel, Ethan, Oscar and Raffaella! @DownsendSchool
I love these whale drawings from yesterday morning's doodle! Myles H in Year 2 and Sophie M in Y5 used biro so effectively to create a range of tone. Well done! @DownsendSchool
We’ve had another creative week, with lots of pupils joining in with the morning doodle and our afternoon art sessions. Our Artist of the Week is Annabel E in 4EF, who followed along with Wednesday’s doodle to create this beautifully atmospheric seascape @DownsendSchool
Back at school, Year 6 had their first socially distanced art lesson and used the school grounds to inspire their observational drawings of natural forms. Here are a few brilliant examples from Alexander C, Keira F and Polly G-G. Well done! @DownsendSchool
Here is Rhys in 7BD's super 'Artist in a Box' project... After researching Banksy, he constructed a miniature room complete with a recreation of ‘Girl with Balloon’, which was famously shredded by its own frame moments after being sold at auction. Great job, Rhys! @DownsendSchool
So proud of the creative achievements of my pupils during #lockdown. Here Ella W in year 3 explains her bird feeder design for an exhausted mummy bird in her garden. We know how she feels! #creativity @DownsendSchool
