One idea I’d love to debate there:

Maybe dogs solved the AI alignment problem 15,000 years before we started worrying about it.

They didn’t control the smarter species.

The uncomfortable part:

We love dogs.

We also leash them, neuter them, breed them, and make decisions for them.

If a superintelligence offered humanity the same deal—safe, cared for, subordinate—would we take it?

Dogs discovered something stronger than usefulness:

Attachment.

Nobody loves a backup generator.

But people love their dogs long after the dog’s original “job” disappears.

That may be the more interesting alignment lesson.

@NicoDeMattia I read your Tesla Model 3 review and you sound like a Tesla hater. I’ve had 5 BMW coupes and been driving a Model 3 for over 5 years and it’s overall the best car I’ve ever owned. One quickly adapts to the UI. To each their own.
