André Leon Talley's suit here was made by Morty Sills, a famous NYC tailor that combined traditional British and American tailoring. Gordon Parks was a longtime client and when he signed Richard Roundtree for the role of John Shaft, he took him to his tailor.
Parks was an incredibly sophisicated dresser who wore double-breasted blazers, turtlenecks with tweed, and Westernwear. Tremendously elegant throughout his entire life, even when in something as simple as a v-neck with a collared shirt. He understood visual language.
