@El_Nina1993 @sainimatic I tend to agree but I don't think the OP thinks At Worlds End is slop. There's definitely a trend of re appraising films from the mid to late 2000s that really don't deserve it. This and Quantum of Solace seem to be the main ones. Plenty of better films from the time.

I'd say Dead Man's Chest was the more converluted, and they wrote themselves into a corner by the end of it, which At Worlds End trying to untie all the nots they tied themselves into

@darkestgroyper @sainimatic Sam Raimi is a proper filmmaker not just a jumped up TV Director, when he got to do a modern blockbuster people didn't know who to react, We could have had him do the next Avengers film but instead we're getting the jumped up TV Directors again, whose films have gotten worse

@cirsatanized @sainimatic I've noticed that a couple of people have agreed with me and disagreed with me, and both are fine. But the film was met harshly when it came out and the criticisms of the time still hold. Modern blockbusters have similar issues just with worst esthetics and craftsmanship.
