It turns out that satellites reject waste heat generated by onboard systems into the cold void of deep space through radiators. Since the vacuum of space prevents cooling via conduction to an atmosphere, satellites rely on thermal radiation to dissipate this energy.
It seems to me that the pareto principle also applies to products or services you want to buy (car, home, bicycle). 20% $ of max for that kind of product gives you 80% of the function and esthetics.
