BIG update to discoverability on Artist Alley! The marketplace and commissions pages have been completely replaced with a unified Browse page where you can search for different categories of merch. More categories will be added soon and some listings might be categorized incorrectly for now, but those will all be fixed very shortly!
This thing on? Hey! I'm @TobbyMLP, and I'll be running this account going forward as the social media manager guy. You can expect frequent posts, announcements and other neat stuff we have in the works regarding Artist Alley!
Stay tuned. 👀
It's kinda crazy how Artist Alley has over 3,000 registered users on it after only a month with literally zero marketing lol. Soon, we'll have our official social media manager post very regularly so I imagine those numbers will go up very quickly. Big things coming soon 😊

New Artist Alley feature just dropped: Open requests! This was something that was suggested many times over the last month. You can now put up what you'd like to get commissioned, and artists will be able to comment a response to that request. You can then choose to start a commission with an artist that you want to work with. This works for both physical and digital commissions!
Oh, and we just made a Patreon page: https://t.co/3SQHGoZRfv
If you decide to support us through Patreon instead, let me know and I'll make sure to give you the proper role, perks, and recognition on the supporters page!
The first supporter perk is now live on Artist Alley: discovery bumps!
If you are a Tier 2 supporter or higher ($5/mo), you can now bump your listings and stores so they get floated to the top of the public browse pages' grids. Every 24 hours, eligible supporters can bump up to 5 listings and 1 store. The same listing can only be bumped once per 24 hours.
Remember that you're not paying to unlock this feature individually; monthly support helps keep Artist Alley running, improving, and independent, and supporters get access to all perks included in their tier as they roll out. Discovery bumps are just the first supporter-only feature - and there will definitely be a lot more cool special features ahead, to be announced very soon!
Artist Alley still takes no cut out of any of your sales. Supporter subscriptions go directly toward hosting, development, operations, and keeping the platform alive. Every supporter genuinely matters (seriously), so please consider supporting even if you don't particularly care about the perks!
Artist Alley is now officially a month old, and we already have over 1,000 artists approved and onboarded! 😃
We're also partnering with @SunshinePonyCon to test some cool experimental features, such as an interactive vendor hall map with a 3D booth viewer built into it, and so much more. You can check it out via the link below!
Artist Alley updates (June 12, 2026)

40 minutes left in this auction by @dinohrs! If a bid gets placed in the last 10 minutes of an auction, the timer gets extended to 30 minutes, so it might take longer for the auction to close. Check it out!

Today, I'm proud and excited to officially announce and launch Artist Alley, the artist-first fandom marketplace! Over the last year and a half, I've traveled across the world and sat down with hundreds of artists to ask what they'd want in a marketplace platform that doesn't treat them like corporate products. One of the most vocal and consistent complaints was that ALL of these existing platforms take an unreasonable cut of their sales ("Why does Etsy charge me for making a listing before I've even sold anything?") for doing next to nothing for them, while artists had to constantly worry about getting randomly banned for no reason and having no way to appeal. Not to mention the rampant fraud and scams on those websites, the amount of low-effort dropshipping, and miserable chargeback experiences that discourage creators from pursuing what they love doing.
What I've learned from these artists is that the bar to creating a marketplace that doesn't actively screw over its creators is unambitiously low. But why settle for the bare minimum? I spent the last six months developing, testing, and scrutinizing every aspect of an ideal marketplace that truly represents how real artists and vendors today manage and organize their everyday workflow; if artists give their all when they make content for others to enjoy, why shouldn't I? Ultimately, Artist Alley is a statement that creators deserve to benefit from their creations first, and that the platform should fit around the art, not the other way around. One of the core tenets of Artist Alley is that a marketplace platform taking a 0% fee is sustainable in the long-term, despite what these corporations would like you to believe. After all, how are we to know for sure it's NOT sustainable without someone actually trying it? (Sadly I can't do anything about the payment processor fee, but Artist Alley doesn't take anything on top of it.)
There are too many features to mention all of them in this tweet, but the idea is that you can sell and buy digital or physical merch, take or request digital or physical commissions, host auctions and raffles, have your orders automatically organized in a trello board, set up multiple stores, and discover talented artists around the world. Check them out for yourself below! I'll probably be posting short videos of all the features in the coming week. And join our community Discord for updates on new features, submit ideas, and report any bugs!
