The OSFN collection to date! We have 11 paintings completed, 2 more almost done, and hopefully 2 more to go to round out to 15 paintings this month - and we have now raised $557.12 in donations to conservation through the challenge π Who should we add?

Only FOUR paintings left in my collaboration with @WPCWild911 to paint 15 at-risk Canadian species, and we have raised over $2700 this year π₯³ Help me reach some #herpetology fans and find the last few paintings a good home
In January, Sarah committed to a 31-day art challenge in collaboration with @WPCWild911 to paint as many at risk species as she could raising over $1365!

In 2017, Sarah moved to Vancouver to research gentoo penguins!
This work granted the opportunity to camp beside the penguin colony in the Falkland Islands and experience the full range of animals that call the windy islands home.

Exciting progress is underway! Sarah McComb-Turbitt is hard at work creating beautiful paintings of endangered Canadian speciesπ¨. With 3 paintings completed in 5 days, Sarah has showcased the Western painted turtle, blue racer and the Taylor's checkerspot butterfly.π
How can you reach food resources not accessible to others? For #GentooPenguins, elevated haemoglobin levels (i.e. higher aerobic capacity) are linked to more frequent deep dives & more time spent at the bottom searching for prey #FeatureArticle@AugerMethe

KeyQ in #ecology -> how do individuals outperform other members of their species? π§
#Foraging success of #seabirds is dependent on their ability to #dive π€Ώ / hold their breath π¨
πDoes the condition of oxygen stores affect individual diving efficiency?
#SMM2022 Auction is about to pass 2K! Funds support small grants in aid of research for marine mammals ππ¬ @32auctions@marinemammalogy check out the amazing artwork!
As we kick off #SMM2022, I want to share a feeding humpback whale that I saw with @NEAQ last week. As a bioacoustian, I rarely get to see the animals I study, but being in the presence of these ocean giants was just what my soul needed π
