#DrClaraHowitt was delighted to support the Stigma Enigma program fundraiser. Our Sweet Caroline composed a song entitled Purgatory and performed with her teacher. Outstanding performance, innovative and creative. She played the inside of the piano! #ArtMatters!
#DrClaraHowitt A recent drawing that our Giorgia Peach created. She created 3 separate of the same work increasingly more abstract. Can wait to see them. Looks just like our Stella.
Throughout the month of March, we will be introducing some of the outstanding women who learn and work at the GECDSB.
Jodi Nolin has been a teacher with the GECDSB for almost 25 years and is now the board's first Special Assignment Teacher for Student Well-being.
Ms. Nolin visits classrooms throughout Windsor and Essex County to teach students about the tools required to manage stress and worry, mental health literacy, social-emotional learning and mindfulness techniques. Her calm and engaging manner has inspired many students and teachers and has helped them transfer the skills they learn in her classes to their everyday lives.
"I like the lessons. I've been trying to savour things more and to breathe. I think it makes me like things more and makes me appreciate the good things."
"I notice when I'm frustrated I can breathe and get rid of it. I can think positively and it just helps me a lot. I could use this my entire life because it's very helpful. I'm feeling positive and happy. I really like the sessions."
Jodi aims to empower her students to make meaningful choices that will lead them toward health, wellness, happiness, and success.
Thank you 4M for inviting us to see your shadow puppetry. My students were quite amazed and really enjoyed the shows. @ArtsCanTeach@GlenwoodGriffin@ibpyp
A big thank you to @Laughtertainer for teaching our class about the rules of puppetry! We had so much fun presenting our skits using our puppets today! @ArtsCanTeach@CoronationCougs
