We hope you enjoy reading some of our highlights from 2023. It’s been hard, but we are so grateful to everyone who has supported, visited, bought food & drink or tickets to a gig 🙏 you make a difference!
We haven’t even included @folkinthepark1 🤣💫🌟✨ which was phenomenal
We are devastated by this news. We will say more tomorrow when it has sunk in. It’s a big blow - just tragic that a fellow #GrassrootsMusicVenue, & such an iconic one, can be lost so suddenly 💔
Something has to happen before the sector collapses
Day 3 of GloveWatch and we have spotted 107 lost and lonely gloves. We have never crossed the 100 mark by day 3 before so this cold spell is producing results. Happy hunting today @LordScroley
@David_Challen@karenwhybro@SuttonWomen Our representative Doug had a really interesting day. Thanks to you both and to all involved for such a good conference focusing on essential work.
Our roving reporter attended the press briefing of an exciting new Pauline Boty exhibition which opens in London this Friday. Write up and photos now on our website. Enjoy - and go and see the show for yourself. Pauline Boty is an artistic local hero! https://t.co/mVZQ1ND9Zq
Have you popped down to @SuttonHeritage Little Holland House? An incredible Arts and Craft style house by Frank R Dickinson, it is open this Sunday (03/12)! Soak in the culture and peruse all the art - it’s everywhere! #EYAArt https://t.co/dgsKgeWULx
Our roving reporter spent an interesting day with our amazing Members @SuttonWomen at their conference. We listened to powerful presentations, and we’re now reflecting on what we learned and how we can support this excellent organisation and their work.
We're halfway through our concerts for this term, and we have been treated to so many brilliant performances!
What has been your highlight so far? 🎶
#MakeMusicWithUs
@MelSimpsonDance Yes - it's sad to say but had she been male, we expect her talent would have remained in light more easily during the decades. Good to see the work and her story being recognised, yes! <3
@HippyNeal@Carshalton_art A sad story indeed, and a boundary breaking talent. PB is still largely unknown outside artistic circles. The school responses at CAOS were a fab highlight. We've named a youth prize after her for several years - it's good to know she has support in and around her home town.
If music be the food of love, then get yourself down to @soundloungeCIC for tonight's open mic - hosted by Sutton's own musical wonder, @twigboyjoe - it'll be fun!! https://t.co/58ypN8XMQP
We are pleased to announce that our summer 2024 production will be directed by David Hedges; directing the play Two by Jim Cartwright. Performances will be at The CryerArts Centre in Carshalton from 11th to 13th July 2024. An audition notice will be published in March 2024.
One for Mums, Dads, Carers, Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles, and (of course!) all the children!! #Carshalton#FrostFair@HoneywoodMuseum 2 December 13:00-18:00
