On 2.3.2023, I appeared before her Lady the Chief Justice Martha Koome alongside 464 other advocates to take Oath. Most importantly, I signed the roll of advocates. This was a historic moment. God Speed.
My second submission, on behalf of the Tax Research Centre at @StrathU, before the National Assembly's Finance & Planning Committee was on the proposal to amend Sec37E of the Tax Procedures Act & revive the tax amnesty programme.
I made a few points here:
· An amnesty programme is certainly welcome given the rigours taxpayers are undergoing with Incomes & Expenses validation & the fact that many well meaning Kenyans may be inadvertently caught in non-compliance errors they simply couldn't avoid
· In view of bullet point 1 above, why not amend the section to provide for an amnesty programme that runs through the full financial year (i.e. has June 30th, 2027 as its sunset date as opposed to Dec 31st, 2026 as currently proposed)
· Another reason for extending the amnesty programme to June 30th, 2027 is that fact that many taxpayers are still navigating what has been undeniably a far from tidy migration of ledger balances from the legacy system to iTax. Doesn't this present an opportune moment for a clean up?
Nothing tires a lawyer more than hearing a long story without a consultation fee.
Clients who don't pay for consultation are less likely to hire the lawyer.
Better to apply your time elsewhere unless it's a probono brief.
Good evening colleagues.
I have this evening instructed my campaign secretariat to discontinue any and all engagements that may have existed with Mr. Patrick Wandare, Advocate. He will forthwith not take any part in any activities relating to my candidacy or campaign.
Mr. Wandare intimated his support for my candidacy in January 2026 after initially having been a strong supporter of one of my opponents. From the outset, he has never been retained as a representative or agent of my campaign, and his involvement therein was solely as a supporter.
The grave allegations against Mr. Wandare are shocking, and such conduct is inconsistent with my personal values and the principles of my candidacy. I have zero tolerance for all perpetrators and enablers of sexual harassment, and do not intend to advance any relationship with individuals who demonstrate contempt for the ideals of mutual respect, dignity, and freedom from all forms of gender-based violence including sexual harassment.
I express my deepest sympathies to all persons that may have fallen victim to Mr. Wandare, and endorse any action they may take to seek justice for the pain they have suffered.

Transparency & accountability and not confidentiality declares Justice Sifuna!
A person who initiates a complaint with IPOA is entitled to the statements recorded by the police. Confidentiality cannot override the 2010 constitutional scheme of accountability.
Today, the Court of Appeal (Kiage, Muchelule, and Korir JA) heard the @BakeKenya appeal (challenging the constitutionality of the 'misused' Computer Misuse and Cyber Crimes Act). Judgment reserved for 27/2/26.

Police Abstracts alone are not conclusive proof of occurrence of a road accident. As a matter of fact, they only prove that following an accident, the occurrence thereof was reported at a particular police station. They must be corroborated by other evidence to be conclusive.

Easiert way to slide into psychosis is through weed. You go to any mental hospital and most of the patients there trace their problems to smoking weed. I still struggle to understand how one would willingly abuse a drug that alters the chemical composition of their brains.

Advocates really do not know what to do with their time if there is no court in the morning 😂😂
What are we supposed to do in the morning hours when the diary is clean on a random day?

After teaching at University for 25 years, my gross salary was KSh 81,888 & 55 cents. Still university lecturers earn peanuts. Government research budget is minimal. Many top academicians have gone abroad. Large numbers of youth lack fees. Hence collapse of tertiary education.
