उन्होंने अपना इस्तीफा सुप्रीम लीडर मोजतबा खामेनेई को सौंप दिया है, पेजेशकियान ने आरोप लगाया है कि देश के प्रशासनिक तंत्र पर अब पूरी तरह आईआरजीसी (IRGC) का प्रभाव और नियंत्रण हो चुका है, जिसके चलते सरकार की कार्यप्रणाली प्रभावित हो रही है।
