The old violinist was playing a touching tune that no one had stopped to listen to.
There were a handful sitting around that town square that evening,

In a tiny café in Porto, I lift my cup and notice the words “Drink slowly…” emerging beneath the coffee’s edge.
And just below, etched into the porcelain,“…and listen carefully.”

@thedrivenman That’s far too sweeping a statement. Healing alone doesn’t automatically make someone wise or dangerous in a good way; it can just as easily create blind spots.
That’s true, but it’s also crucial to remember that we can’t always choose who we’re around. Family, coworkers, classmates, and circumstances often place people in our daily orbit whether we like it or not. Not every environment is optional. What can be chosen, though, is how we respond, what we internalize, and whose influence we allow to shape us.
That’s right. Several prominent merchant families built early fortunes in that trade, including the family of Shri Jamsetji Tata. Many aren’t aware of the fact that his father, Shri Nusserwanji Tata, earned part of his wealth through the opium export business before the Tata Group was formally established.
