Had a meaningful discussion with Padma Shri Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, on the growing global recognition of Ayurveda and its relevance across BRICS nations.
We discussed the importance of taking Ayurveda forward not only through its products, but also by creating greater recognition for qualified practitioners and strengthening the approach towards integrative medicine.
I also shared the efforts of Sri Sri Tattva in taking Ayurveda to a wider global platform.

At the BRICS WBA Women-Led Development Summit 2026, I had the opportunity to speak on the importance of making women’s health a priority through prevention, wellness and greater access to healthcare.
As I shared, “When you educate a man, you educate a family; when you educate a woman, you educate an entire communities.” Empowering women with the right knowledge and access creates a ripple effect across generations and communities.
The panel discussion brought together diverse perspectives from across BRICS on women’s health, primary care, technology and access. We explored how digital health, AI and community-led solutions can help bridge healthcare gaps, particularly for women in rural and underserved communities.
I also spoke about the potential of Ayurveda and AI—bringing together India’s traditional wisdom with modern technology to build a more preventive, accessible and holistic approach to women’s health.
A meaningful conversation towards building a healthier and more inclusive future.

A DECADE OF PATIENCE. A MOMENT OF TRUTH.
For more than ten years, I have watched the Art of Living face baseless allegations concerning the 2016 World Culture Festival on the Yamuna floodplains.
The organisation endured intense criticism and reputational damage. Yet, throughout this period, it chose patience over provocation, dignity over confrontation and faith in the judicial process over conclusions drawn before the facts had been fully examined. It placed the facts before the courts, cooperated with the authorities and continued its service while patiently waiting for the truth to emerge.
On 22 August 2026, that patience was vindicated.
The Supreme Court set aside the 2017 judgment of the National Green Tribunal, along with all consequential and interim actions. It also directed the Delhi Development Authority to refund the entire ₹5 crore deposit within four weeks.
Most importantly, the Court held that the causal link between the World Culture Festival and the alleged environmental damage had “not been established by any standard.” It observed that any damage, if it existed, could not be attributed to the Art of Living.
A subsequent committee comprising government officials had found no debris, no soil compaction, no significant wetland or water body within the allotted area, and little difference between the condition of the site before and after the event. The Supreme Court held that this report “effectively nullified the allegations of damage.”
These allegations were especially painful because environmental protection has always been central to the Art of Living’s service.
In 2010, under the Meri Dilli, Meri Yamuna campaign, more than 5,000 volunteers worked every day for six weeks and removed 700 tonnes of garbage and toxic material from the Yamuna. It is difficult to reconcile the accusation that an organisation which mobilised thousands of people to clean the river would deliberately damage the very river it had worked to protect.
That was not an isolated initiative. Inspired by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the Art of Living’s water-conservation projects have helped revive more than 75 rivers and 1,000 water bodies, conserved over 17,452 crore litres of water and provided more reliable water access to over 3.45 crore people.
The organisation has also planted 100 million trees and operates 1,356 free schools across 22 states, educating more than 1,20,000 children, many of whom are first-generation learners.
During the decade in which it faced these allegations, the Art of Living did not stop serving. Rivers continued to be rejuvenated, trees continued to be planted, children continued to be educated and communities in distress continued to receive support.
For me, that is the organisation’s most powerful response.
This is not a moment for bitterness. It is a moment for gratitude, reflection and renewed faith in justice. Environmental protection and procedural fairness are not opposing values; both are essential.
This judgment represents far more than the refund of ₹5 crore. It restores truth and dignity after more than a decade of patience.
Baseless allegations can travel quickly. Truth sometimes takes longer. But when one remains steadfast, continues to serve and places faith in justice, the truth eventually finds its voice.
The Art of Living waited patiently, stood with dignity and continued to serve.
Today, the truth stands affirmed by the highest
court of our country.
Satyameva Jayate.

On India's 80th Independence Day and 150 years of Vande Mataram, let us remember the sacrifices of the forefathers for this beautiful nation. Let us bring together the ancient and the modern to create more opportunities for the young torch bearers of Bharat to take it to greater heights.
The courage and determination of Jharkhand’s youth are commendable. Their concerns are legitimate and deserve to be heard. I urge them to end their fast and engage in dialogue. With mutual trust and goodwill, a meaningful solution can be found.
