“It’s very hard to recognise that the standards which have almost killed you are really mercantile standards. They’re based on cotton; they’re based on oil; they’re based on peanuts; they’re based on profits.” - James Baldwin

The Communist Party of Britain condemns the recent wave of racist violence in Belfast and Glasgow. These attacks on black families and migrant communities are pogroms. They are a direct and deliberate echo of the sectarian pogroms seen in the 1960s and 70s.
The far right is using this violence to divide working-class communities. They are supported by billionaire-owned social media platforms that spread disinformation to protect the interests of the ruling class.
We call on the labour and trade union movement to organise and stand in solidarity with those under attack. The real cause of the crisis in housing, healthcare, and jobs is the capitalist system, not our neighbours.
No to racist violence. Build working-class unity.

Saturday saw comrades in Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds marking five years since Toothless in England began its refusal to let the state rot our mouths in silence. The collapse of NHS dentistry is the calculated result of a contract that treats health as a market and pain as a profit margin.
Nine out of ten practices have closed their doors to new NHS patients, leaving four million people stranded in dental deserts.
The campaign is fighting for universal care, free at the point of use, and an end to the barbarism of DIY dentistry, where one in ten are forced into self-surgery.
In Cambridgeshire, the campaign has pushed councils to challenge Integrated Care Boards and brought mobile units to the communities the government has left to decay.
With sixteen branches nationwide, the campaign is ensuring the voice of the class is heard from the pavement to Westminster.

“Even an entire society, a nation, or all simultaneously existing societies taken together, are not the owners of the earth. They are simply its possessors, its beneficiaries, and have to bequeath it in an improved state to succeeding generations.”
