Thank you for motivating our leaders to continue ensuring we have adequate inventories of gas and other resources that we import from Indonesia.

Thank you for compelling us to diversify our sources of supply so that we can uphold our stability and growth.

Thank you for inspiring our government to explore different energy sources that may be more efficient and cleaner, such as geothermal and nuclear energy.

Thank you to your Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, who threatened on 26 October 2026 that he would “not hesitate to consider stopping exports to countries that do not respect Indonesia.”

It has taught us and the rest of the world to be wiser and more vigilant when we do business with and in your country.

Thank you for sacrificing your reputation and the credibility of your nation to show us what we should not do in the global economy and market.

Thank you for demonstrating to us that such a decision can send shivers through other governments, entrepreneurs, and investors.

If Singapore were to act in the same way, it would drive them and their investments from our nation, and it would affect our peace, progress, and prosperity.

For example, Saudi Arabia plans to store crude oil at Jurong Rock Caverns from the second half of 2027.

We provide them with stability, security, incorruptibility, safety, and predictability.

The storage will contribute to Singapore's energy security and resilience in the event of supply disruptions.

It will also enhance the reliability of Saudi crude oil supplies to the region.

President Prabowo, rest assured that Singapore is a principled, trustworthy, and reliable friend.
