🚨 ELON MUSK ON THE EARLY DAYS OF SPACEX:
“When I started SpaceX, one of my friends got a compilation of rocket failures and made me watch the whole thing.
I knew the probability of SpaceX failing was high.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON WHO SHOULD CONTROL HIS COMPANIES:
“Succession is one of the toughest age-old problems. It’s plagued countries, kings, prime ministers and presidents, and CEOs, since the dawn of history. There is no obvious solution.
There are particular individuals I’ve identified. I’ve told the board, if something happens to me unexpectedly, this is my recommendation for taking over. In all cases the board is aware of who my recommendation is.
The control question is a much tougher one, and something I’m wrestling with. I’m frankly open to ideas.
The companies I have created collectively possess immense capability, so the stewardship of them is incredibly important. I want to make sure that the stewardship ultimately accrues to the benefit of humanity. That’s the idea. The furtherance of civilization.”
🚨 ELON MUSK:
“My mind often feels like a very wild storm. I have a fountain of ideas. I have more ideas than I could possibly execute.
So I have no shortage of ideas. Innovation is not the problem. Execution is the problem.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON SOLAR:
“I’m quite confident that the primary means of power generation will be solar. I’m confident that solar will beat everything hands down, including natural gas. It must, actually. If it doesn’t, we’re in deep trouble.
The world is almost entirely solar-powered already. Most people know this, but don’t realize they know it.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON WHY HE NEEDS 25 PERCENT OF TESLA’S VOTE
“I’m not going to build a robot army if I can be easily kicked out by activist investors. No way.
The Tesla thing is called sort of compensation, but really it’s not about compensation. It’s not like I’m going to go out and buy a yacht with it.
If I’m going to build up Optimus and have all these robots out there, I need to make sure we do not have a Terminator scenario and that I can maximize the safety of the robots.
I feel like I need something like a 25% vote. Enough to have a strong influence, but not so much that I can’t be fired if I go insane.
My concern would be creating this army of robots and then being fired for political reasons, even though I’ve done everything right. And then I cannot ensure the safety of the robots.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON ORBITAL DATA CENTERS AND LUNAR COMPUTE
“The next step beyond Earth data centers is Earth orbital data centers. We’ll be launching SpaceX orbital data centers at the 100 to 200 gigawatt per year level — not cumulative, per year.
Ultimately we see a path to maybe launching as much as a terawatt per year of compute from Earth.
But if you want to go beyond a terawatt per year, you have to go to the moon. By having factories on the moon building AI satellites, and having a mass driver — something you usually only read about in science fiction but we’re going to make it real.
If you do that, you can go several orders of magnitude greater, to 1,000 gigawatts or more per year, and ultimately maybe even a few percent of the sun’s energy.
It’s difficult to imagine what an intelligence of that scale would think about, but it’s going to be incredibly exciting.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON OPTIMUS 3:
“We’re in the final stages of completion of Optimus 3, which is really going to be by far the most advanced robot in the world. Nothing’s even close.
In fact, I haven’t even sent any demos of robots that are as good as Optimus 3.
We’ll start production on Optimus 3 this summer, but very slow at first. And then probably reach high-volume production around summer next year.
We’ll have Optimus 4 design complete by next year. We will try to release a new robot design every year, an improved robot design every year.”
🚨 ELON MUSK:
Countries should make new technologies legal by default and prioritize startups over large companies.
“New things must be legal by default rather than illegal by default. In the EU, regulation is extraordinarily high, and this inhibits the progress of new technologies. It doesn’t ultimately stop progress, but it slows it down considerably.
Most countries provide too much support to the large existing trees and not enough to the small saplings. The large trees don’t need their support. It’s the small saplings, the startups, that do.
You really need to foster the growth of young companies.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON AGING:
“I haven’t put much time into the aging stuff. I do think it is a very solvable problem.
But there is some benefit to death, by the way. Because if people do live a very long time, there’s some risk of an ossification of society.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON RECRUITING GREAT PEOPLE:
“If you want to recruit talented and driven people, you must state the mission, the problem to solve, and show you’re willing to pour blood, sweat, and tears into it with a convincing reason why it matters.
Motivation comes from three things: enjoying the work itself, fair financial rewards, and knowing the work will make a real difference in the world.”
🚨 GROK BUILD ISN’T JUST FOR CODING
It can help you far beyond that.
This clip used Grok Build to clean up the audio in Elon Musk’s G20 address, remove background noise, and add subtitles to the entire video.
Grok Build is great for video editing too.
🚨 ELON MUSK:
“Almost all of the AI discourse takes place on X. Everyone who’s anyone in AI posts on X.
There actually is quite a crisis of power. If you just follow the AI topic on X, I think you get a very good sense for where things are headed.
That’s how I get my news, and it’s incredibly good. So I’d recommend just go on the AI topic on X, and you’ll understand all these things and get a day-by-day account of things.”
🚨 ELON MUSK:
Google and Anthropic are leasing AI compute from SpaceX amid a growing power shortage.
“Even before next year, there are challenges with power, which is why Google, Anthropic and many other companies are leasing compute from SpaceX.
We’ve been able to bring AI compute online better than anyone else so far. Constructing our own power plants is the only way we were able to do it.”
🚨 ELON MUSK ON HUMANOID ROBOTS
“When you make the robots, the robots will start manufacturing the robots, so you get a recursive effect.
It starts off very slowly, but then it grows at an explosive rate.”
“10 years from now, I would say there are well over a billion humanoid robots.
And those robots will be at least five times the output of a human.
And this is a conservative estimate.”
That means more than a billion robots, each several times more productive than a person.
Combined, they would produce more than all humans on Earth.
🚨 ELON MUSK ON SOLAR POWER
“I’m quite confident that the primary means of power generation will be solar.
I’m confident that solar will beat everything hands down, including natural gas. It must, actually. If it doesn’t, we’re in deep trouble.
The world is almost entirely solar-powered already. Most people know this, but don’t realize they know it.”
