@MTSmith78@coachzblair10 I’m sorry but have you ever heard of college boosters? It’s pay to play at every level it’s just the currency and the cost that changes.
@nextlevelbb@coachzblair10 Not always. Lots of tournaments. Lots of teams. Lots of dads who get control of a team or start their own and don’t have the skill set to coach. Or there’s programs out there taking people’s money and making empty promises and placing “players” on their 4th or 5th team.
Players Know.
They know how good they are.
They know how good their teammates are.
They know how hard they work.
They know how hard their teammates work.
They know what they and their teammates do off the field.
Great knows great.
Average knows average.
Shitty knows shitty.
Players know who's earned respect and who hasn't.
Welcome Alden Lewis (2027-Saint Cloud HS-CF-SS) to NLB American. Lewis is the right kid from the right programs. Above bat speed for age, plus athleticism, versatility defensively and plays with moxie and feel. Lewis plays like he loves the game and loves competing. Priority juco commit for a program that values the right kids and winning.
I'd bet the overwhelming majority of hall of fame pitchers never threw a weighted ball.
or
Did a run and gun into a net.
or
Knew their spin rate of a pitch.
or
Had a pitch design data analytics guru.
In any travel ball organization in the country, you're going to have 25% that are all in (grinders), 50% that are conveniently in, and 25% that are hoping and wishing without working.
You better cater to the 25% that are all in.
Most organizations cater to everyone because they want the money.
