@rtimuzaffar The issue is that funds sanctioned under the SwachBharat Mission for construction of toilets never actually reached many deserving beneficiaries due to corruption and misuse at the lower levels of the system. The greed and dishonest practices of certain (zaleel)officials did it
Urdu is suddenly the headline—a beautiful meethi zaban now being politicised! Truth is that most of us can’t read a patwari’s file or a police report! I couldn’t do well in Urdu till 9th—writing an essay on Gai aik paltu janwar hai felt like life’s biggest test! 😆
We debate Urdu but ignore our own mother tongue—Kashmiri , which we neither promote nor can read or write! And! The real tragedy is that our children can’t even speak Kashur anymore—yet instead of focusing on that we keep building narratives!
I am not a student of JSU,nor have I ever visited this institution in my life. Yet, somehow,I have always felt a deep emotional connection with it.
I have seen scholars, doctors, and engineers emerge from this place. In an era where society often struggles with moral decline, this institution has continued to produce individuals of character and humanity.
Yes, the Government of India has every right to investigate any matter and take necessary action.
But one question remains, what is the fault of these students? Why should poor and marginalized students suffer from every side?
Education is a fundamental right. No students, whether from Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, or Jammu & Kashmir should face discrimination or disruption in their learning. Rules should be equal and just for everyone.
Kashmiri students, in particular, are already battling job insecurity, depression, anxiety, and the burden of unemployment. With each passing day, we hear of rising cases of suicide and crime. In such a fragile environment, targeting entire institutions only deepens the crisis.
If someone is guilty, hold them accountable but why should an entire community or institution bear the consequences? We must not repeat the painful mistakes of the 1990s, where collective suffering became the norm.
Beyond religion, culture, politics, or personal biases, try to feel the pain of these students. Imagine if your own child or sibling were in their place. What would your answer be?
The emotional words of a young child in this video remind us of the deep love and connection one would have have with their schools, their second homes.
May Allah bless and protect all students.
Thank you.
