22.8 million children are out of school; and the literacy rate has stagnated at around 60pc. Only Nigeria does worse than Pakistan in getting its children into classrooms.(Asad Ejaz Butt , Daily Dawn 18th Feb 2026)#EducationForAll
If what you want is a regular 9‑to‑5 that pays for a mansion and a few cars, where “problem solving” really just means maximizing profits for the capitalist you work for — dressed up as “strategy” or whatever glossy title they invent — stay away from a PhD.

I grew up with the idea that we Pashtuns are the most hospitable people, until I met my Sindhi friends. They made me change my thinking as they surpass us in hospitality & friendship. My visits to Karachi used to be a culinary delight with a long list of lunches & dinner appointments. I still get crates of mangoes every year without fail. During training & service, Pashtuns & Sindhis jelled together, sharing many lighter moments full of laughter & fun. It even made me learn a bit of Sindhi. It’s truly one of the sweetest languages.

SBP’s summary shows total foreign investment at US$1.964 billion in FY 2023–24 and US$1.839 billion in FY 2024–25, followed by a sharp drop to US$207.4 million for the first half of the ongoing FY compared with $1.343 billion in the comparable period a year earlier.
The technical meaning of this collapse is that marginal investors are either deferring decisions, shrinking tickets, or demanding structures that Pakistan’s current governance and macro framework cannot credibly support at scale.
We are pleased to share that @AsadAijaz's piece was published on @ASPANational PA Times! The article highlights how language shapes opportunity for learners from marginalized communities. Citing an upcoming book by PhD student Nadeem Hussain.
