The era of shouting slogans is over. Today, in the presence of Presidents H.E William Ruto and H.E Yoweri Museveni, Our Host, Governor of Kisumu, H.E. Prof. Anyang Nyong'o along with other leaders, dignitaries and residence, we officially launched the construction of Kisumu-Malaba Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). This project is living proof that sustainable development is won through strategic influence, not noise.

​This is the 'Third Wave' of our struggle. Under my leadership, we are transitioning from street activism to the corridors of power—shaping the policies that create real and tangible development. Following the blueprint left by Baba, ODM has evolved. We are no longer just a political party; we have become a governance machine.

​Our move toward a broad-based strategic partnership is about one thing: positioning ourselves where the decisions are made. When we say 'Tunataka Power,' it is no longer a slogan—it is a commitment to working strategically with our government partners to ensure delivery of roads, railways, and jobs our people have waited for.

We welcome the era of Economic Liberation by prioritizing the development of efficient infrastructure. By modernizing our networks, we are not just building roads and railways; we are opening our region to neighboring markets and unlocking vast, untapped opportunities for our people.

Furthermore, I took the opportunity to urge both Presidents to designate Lake Victoria as a 'Common User Facility.' In the true spirit of the East African Community (EAC), this move would transform our shared waters into a seamless corridor for trade, maritime safety, and regional integration, ensuring that the 'Blue Economy' benefits every citizen in the basin.

I have arrived in Kisumu, Kenya, at the invitation of H.E. William Ruto, to join him in launching the Naivasha–Kisumu–Malaba Standard Gauge Railway.
