Nvidia's OpenAI Deal. $NVDA plans to guarantee $250 billion so OpenAI can lease a data center project in Ohio, with a separate deal under discussion to finance the chips going inside it. That is Nvidia funding the customer who buys Nvidia hardware. Circular Economy!
Oil Fell, But Not many Ships Have Moved.
Brent crude went under $90 after the White House shelved plans to escalate in Iran. Ship tracker Kpler counted six to twelve daily crossings of the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, no better than last week.

ASML $ASML ( ▼ 5.7% ) fell after The Information reported a Chinese state-backed firm has started mass-producing its own version of the machines that print chips.
MSTR ( ▲ 7.73% ) sold 5.4 million shares and built its dollar reserve to $3.75 billion, enough to cover roughly two years of dividend and interest payments.
Tesla $TSLA ( ▼ 1.36% ) had its price target cut to $420 at Deutsche Bank,
Outside of Big Tech, earnings from Visa (V), Boeing (BA), Coca-Cola (KO), Qualcomm (QCOM), Starbucks (SBUX), Shell (SHEL), Coinbase (COIN), Chevron (CVX), ExxonMobil (XOM).
Investors will also watch the expected IPO debuts of Jersey Mike's (JMKE) and Ticketplus (TP).
Next week in Wall Street: Busiest weeks of the summer, earnings from four of the Mag 7, the Fed’s latest policy decision, and key inflation data all set to test a market trading near record highs.
Inflation returns to the spotlight Thursday with the release of the July core PCE price index, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge. Economists expect annual core PCE inflation to rise 3.3%.
Crude oil futures (CL1:COM) dramatically rose 9.6% this week to settle around $90.42 as of post-market Friday. Brent futures (CO1:COM) also jumped 11.6% to $98.34 per barrel, after having surpassed $100 mid-week.

Some of the big tech stocks that posted earnings reports included Alphabet (GOOGL), (GOOG), Tesla (TSLA), Intel (INTC), and International Business Machines (IBM), among others.
Tesla (TSLA) saw big losses—dropping almost 18% this week—as it miss in EPS and a beat in revenue.
In addition, Alphabet (GOOGL), (GOOG) declined almost 10.5% this week despite an overall positive earnings report.
Big picture
Oil retreated from $100+, tariffs kicked in, and markets digested another day of tech digestion. Volatility remains elevated heading into next week.
