A comment by India’s Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Surya Kant, referring to a political party as “cockroaches,” has sparked satire and protests, raising fresh debate over judicial conduct and free speech in India.
The arrest of Greta Thunberg for peacefully opposing genocide and supporting those on hunger strike is wrongful and disturbing.
This is yet another shocking example of the UK’s broad terrorism laws being used to target those exercising their right to freedom of expression and assembly rights.
Reports that Palestine Action activists on hunger strike have been hospitalised due to seriously deteriorating health send chills down the spine.
The Government should agree to meet their representatives whilst prosecutors must take steps to end this excessively lengthy pre-trial detention.
Supreme Court Bar Association condemns the action of #Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in pulling down the hijab of a woman doctor.
SCBA also condemns the comments made by Union Minister Giriraj Singh and UP Minister Sanjay Nishad, saying they undermine the dignity of women.
#SupremeCourt
Give me one valid explanation why this woman should not be arrested for using such demeaning and humiliating language towards a Muslim man.
If this isn't a verbal assault on a hardworking Muslim man, what is?
Egypt can say what it wants but purchasing $35bn of gas from Israel violates int'l law, including the ICJ advisory opinion of 2024, and is, honestly, an incredible sign of support to Israel during the genocide of the Palestinians.
States must stop placing profits above humanity.
Imam Has Died After Spending 215 Days in ICE Detention, Awaiting Court Hearing
Sheikh Fouad Saeed Abdulkadir has died after spending 215 days in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention while awaiting a court hearing. Abdulkadir, born on 15 March 1979 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and also an Eritrean citizen, was pronounced dead at 3:21am on 14 December after experiencing medical distress while detained at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center. His death adds to growing concerns over prolonged detention and the treatment of detainees held without resolution of their legal cases.
According to reports, Abdulkadir complained of chest pain while in custody, prompting medical staff to administer CPR before emergency services arrived and pronounced him dead. Advocates and civil rights groups have long warned that ICE detention facilities routinely fail to provide adequate medical care, particularly for detainees held for extended periods without trial. Abdulkadir’s death is likely to intensify scrutiny of ICE’s detention practices, including delays in court proceedings and whether preventable medical emergencies are being met with appropriate and timely care.

Doctor Nusrat Parveen(Victim),
Appointment letter & CM Nitish Kumar(Accused).
Bihar Police must file an FIR against CM Nitish Kumar. What was done crossed every line of dignity, consent, and constitutional conduct. Power does not grant immunity from accountability.
In all these years, no Chief Minister or senior BJP leader has stooped to such behavior. #NitishKumarMafiMango
