Personal announcement: After 5 years, today is my last day at @EdSource. I'll share soon my next steps, but it is education-related.
I'm really proud of the work I've done and the very talented and knowledgable team at EdSource.
I’m honored to get to write this one. My friend and former colleague, @ATometich, left journalism to write books. And her debut memoir is heartfelt, beautifully written and sometimes laugh-out-loud funny. I’m so damn proud of her.

In case anyone forgot, STRIKES WORK! After months of negotiations, our movement for a #betterCSU has paid off! Our members have won a Tentative Agreement with @calstate that includes raising the floor for our most vulnerable faculty, safer workplaces & expanded parental leave.#1u
𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: The referee crew from last night’s debacle is expected to be downgraded and cut out of the playoffs, per @AdamSchefter
The punishment fits the crime.
And like in all sports, the #NFL refs won't have to stand in front of the media, be shown the video of the players walking up to them to report and have to answer questions about what was going on there. And if the Lions players talk about it, they will get massive fines.
There is a lot going on @calstate these days. I don’t envy this board. However, raising tuition on California students is difficult to support given the myriad of internal challenges that the system still hasn’t addressed. Any tuition increase must tie to centering students.
The CSU Board of Trustees made history today by appointing Dr. Mildred García as @CalState’s 11th chancellor—the first Latina to serve. Dr. García currently serves as president of the @AASCU and previously served as president of @CSUF and @DominguezHills: https://t.co/m7K8yDtIf1
Mildred Garcia announced as the new chancellor of @calstate. She's a former Dominguez Hills and Fullerton president and currently leads the American Association of State Colleges and Universities.
