@hughriminton I love that he's now deep into retired ABC fan territory. Minor grammatical or vernacular variations become the main issue of the day and require an immediate response. In the UK, there would be much tutting.
@Lisa9Sophia@PatsKarvelas Mate, you should have seen the first "Killing Season" they did about the Rudd-Gillard-Rudd years. Was that a "victory lap" too?

@GrayConnolly@PatsKarvelas Yes the WFH backlash - which many in the LNP claimed was "Labor lies" was HUGE. Everyone knows where the gov steers the country follows. People thought if the LNP got in WFH would decline. Whatever else made the cutting room floor, WFH was the biggest issue the program missed.
@GrayConnolly@TommyTudehope I think you've said it before Gray and I mention the same to a lot of people. For people to vote conservative, culture warriors aside, they need something to conserve.
If Labor can't fix the housing crisis in 3-6 years, the newly formed Coalition will campaign on that to win.
@GrayConnolly It's a concern that there's no credible opposition in the reps this term. The senate can help but the Greens may be once bitten twice shy of opposing policies and wave a lot through.
Not sure I agree that the Coalition's problem was Labor's key strength - appealing the middle.
@TraceyLee_07 So in other words in summer, we export in the day for about an 8th of what we pay at night. The battery is a serious consideration.
I wouldn't base my opinion on your neighbour's quote. They should get several. And each circumstance is different.
@TraceyLee_07 I was quoted $9.5k for a 20kw battery by the company that did our 10kw solar system.
We run ducted aircon at night in summer to sleep comfortably and often in the day too as we can WFH.
Our rebate went from 12 c to 4c. We might export 20-30kw in the day but use 20-30 at night.
@VoteLewko Nonsense.
It's accountable to the ombudsman and senior ABC representatives are regularly grilled in senate estimates, making it accountable for the gov, which is elected by the people. Staff are accountable to the ed pols and guidelines and can be disciplined for breaches.
@VoteLewko "Red tape"? Interesting choice of term when she was arguing for enforceable standards and actual consequences, which currently barely exist and have a weak enforcer. The ABC could easily absorb that kind of "red tape" due to having standards and being accountable already.
“… let’s cross to some vaccine alarmism on Sunrise”
Sunrise teases a ‘serious new side effect’ of the AstraZeneca vaccine only to be proven wrong by a GP live on air
My new column: How Netanyahu’s entire political career has been unwritten by opposition to Palestinian state. The evidence of sabotage are here: his own words. Meanwhile, as Israel attacks Rafah, Gaza descends into humanitarian abyss where children starve https://t.co/0uJqSowYVC
@GrayConnolly It was the post-war promise to the people of Britain that their country did, and would, care for their health.
Public health can work very well...with governments that are functional long-term. After, say, 14 years of dysfunction, it can get run down.
@VictorDrakos@ljayes Carlson literally lies for a living and broadcast Russian propaganda in order to appear like a counter-culture warrior.
The Russian term for a Carlson is a "useful idiot".
@DavePellowe@GrayConnolly The CEO was clearly used to controlling the edit. In a world where advertising affords increasing editorial control, the ABC - uniquely in Australia - receives only government funding (even SBS has ads). That means ABC is uniquely able to resist such tactics.
