Most people from economically weaker sections aren’t aware of government schemes like PMSBY (₹20/year for ₹2 lakh accident cover) or PMJAY / Ayushman Bharat (₹5 lakh health cover).

We recently invited @haqdarshak to run an enrollment camp at our office for housekeeping, admin, and security staff. If you employ people, consider doing this. It removes all the usual barriers to enrollment. The schemes are well-designed; the real problem is awareness and access.

The Third World Bank-AFD Implementation Support Mission (ISM) for the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY) commenced on 10th November 2025 with the Mission Launch Meeting with Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Government of India, followed by discussions with officers from the Department of Fisheries, National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) and Project Management Unit (PMU) and other consultancy teams assessing the progress of implementation of PM-MKSSY.

The mission focused on comprehensive deliberations over key project development objectives to enhance the effectiveness, quality, and impact of the scheme, paving the way for sustainable growth and transformation in the fisheries sector.

Speaking about vigilance practices within NCDC, he appreciated initiatives such as the digital project e-Office, decision-making reforms, and employee grievance (complaint) portals, underscoring that vigilance should be preventive rather than reactive to build a culture of integrity.

🛟 Meet the unsung hero that saved countless lives during Cyclone DANA, a small but powerful device called the Transponder. Powered by the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS), this tech uses satellite communication to send real-time alerts, weather updates,, even in areas with no mobile coverage.

During Cyclone DANA, it enabled mass alerts to fishers at sea, ensuring timely evacuation. Currently, the Department is installing transponders on 1 lakh marine fishing vessels, free of cost—ushering in a new era of resilience, and tech-driven fisheries.
