🤔 There are still people out there who don’t understand that you can be disabled at any age. Whether you’re born with your condition or impairment, or acquire it at some point in your life.
Babies, children, teenagers, young adults can all be disabled people.
Many young disabled people face negative attitudes and discrimination. Usually from those who don’t understand. This can be especially worse if someone’s impairment or condition is less visible.
📢 So, a reminder for anyone who needs it: Young people can also be disabled!
Note to non-autistic people:
When an autistic person tells you they're anxious of going to some social event, never ever tell them, “You'll be fine. Just be yourself,” because YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
