@MohamedNasheed Industry standard for airport ac is 23-25 C. For every 1ยฐ increase in AC reduces electricity consumption by 8%. Settting AC to 23C will save the country whopping 64% for the airport power bill. There is no known health reason for keeping ac cold. 1/2
@MadhilSaleem @midh_am You are asking the right questions. Before we launch into these Majlis should ask an independent authority to provide the public. Airport, the bridges ++ are all being developed via public debt. We need to demand more explanation from our leaders.
@MDPSecretariat@faya_i Here is 1 reform that will reduce corruption and wasteful political activities by making politicians more accountable to ppl.
Reduce the term of Presidency, Majlis and Councils to 3 years. And have election of all 3 on the same day.
@IndependentMV@HassanLatheef@faya_i Is this the policy of MDP? A more democratic reform will be to reduce the terms if Presidency, Majlis, Supreme Court and Councils. Will MDP commit to a reform like this that will make politicians and judges more accountable.
@bankofmaldives What is the justification for this unbelievably high fee? This is daylight robbery by BML and @MMuizzu. As a result of this possibly illegal decision ppl are going to pay nearly 1/3 of their spending on imported goods to BML (and in turn to the Govt).
@DhivehiOne Itโs not privatisation but corruption. My bet is that some one linked to people in power is getting favours. As a result the contract is not enforced or was so badly written (I suspect on purpose) the place is not kept up to an acceptable standard. Corruption is corrosive.
@BondeM4 Public have lost trust of elected officials. We need long lasting solutions to this serious issue. We need a rules that make officials more accountable to ppl. One approach is to make their term shorter (say 3 years). Will you support such a change?
@FuwadThowfeek Youโre doing it again Fuawd. This is the first time Iโve ever noticed an ambassador providing helpful information to the public. Thanks my friend.
@AslamAslamtey I joined MDP because I thought it was going to make a difference. In my book the last MDP govt was no better the previous Govt. We need to be better. My top pick is much more Govt accountability.
@AslamAslamtey When it was given power MDP failed to stick to the principles of the party. Anti corruption, democratic principles, opportunity for all irrespective of political connections etc were all thrown out. I donโt know what MDP stands for?
