Historical use of singular Algiz/Maðr/Eolh runes…
(Thread)
The Icelandic Rune Poem establishes Maðr ᛘ as the man-rune, and it was used ideographically in the place of “man” in the Hávamál, and other manuscripts.
The Anglo Saxons never used Eolh ᛉ ideographically,
To know a god is not word on page. It is to hold the silence long enough that the silence holds you. They live in the space between your breath and the next.

The stole is originally pagan, from Rome. It also helps denote the priest class. Basically, your complaint is the same one we get from Christians.
I don't see why some pagans are intent on wanting our religion to remain the territory of fringe weirdos. They want to give themselves cool Viking names instead of keeping their given names, which are often Christian. They want to wear tunics and headresses instead of dressing in the trappings of the modern culture. They want to spend years and years without temples, and then complain when we buy old churches and dedicate them to our Gods.
We dress using the clothes of our culture and are called Christian by fringe pagans. We hail our Gods and get called demon worshippers by Christians. And yet we are the largest and most successful group in America. I often think fringe people just want to remain fringe.
I actually want my religion to become a cultural mainstay, which means applying the spirit of the ancient law to the modern world. New temples will be risen, and we will also claim old churches. The clothes of the modern world are not somehow solely Christian.
We aren't 9th century Vikings. We are 21st century Americans.
