I am from Texas, I live in Tennessee (is that a song?). The difference between the cultures shocked me when I moved here. Texas is not "the south."
Also, if there is a rivalry, it's all on the Tennessee side.
Texas is neither Southern or Western. It’s Texan. A region whose identity is singular, steeped in its own regional history, and damned proud of it.
As my good friend T. Boothe put it,
“Are the myths and legends of Texas totally true?”
“Probably not. But those myths and legends challenge us to be all that we can be and more than we are.”

“Why’s Notre Dame’s schedule worse than Miami’s. I haven’t heard one person talking about Miami’s SOS”
“You guys would be independent if you could. Just remember that. Every single one of these teams… they would, they can’t” - @Shanemgillis

@NoContextBrits By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires:
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
Mike, help me out here. Isn't pretty much any team in the top 12 more or less guaranteed to be the playoffs? I don't get why this is such a big deal, other than the optics that ND is getting special treatment.
