A lot of ppl be on social media complaining about an inability to make friends post schooling, and it won’t fall in your lap. You gotta go to events/etc, genuinely be ready to connect with folks, bc there are ppl equally ready to connect with you also, in actuality.
I feel like 2020 lockdown changed how ppl show up for others also, and not saying you’ll be able to always be everywhere, but you can’t not anywhere/available, and be expectant of something you haven’t help cultivate.
Yes inflation exists, yes some of us work more hours than our parents did, but if in a 30 day month you can’t carve out zero time to go visit your friend that’s local, or call/FT/text a friend, THAT’S YOU. Life does not get easier, it only gets more demanding. Good luck!
The same excuses you’re using as to why you can’t, is why you’ll look up in 5-10 more years and trying to figure out what happened. Ppl forget friendships are relationships also. & ppl asking how do you do it, their are many resources online, Google it for starters.
A lot of ppl are missing the marker here. To show up doesn’t require $. To be an active friend doesn’t mean you’re at everything, you’re trying. Friendships require work meaning you must be there for the person. If you ghost a friend twice a year for 6 months? Who will be left?
Just find a way. I literally would sleep my life away for times at a time if I didn’t make sure I show up for my friends, bc to me, that’s what’s important. I don’t always wanna be at stuff, but, I go bc duty calls.
A lot of people are struggling in their late 20’s-Early 30’s, bc they assumed their parents randomly had community. Nah, it requires real work. You HAVE to show up for people. We are all battling (life stuff), but to think you always cancel on folks & they’ll be there, Tuh 😂
