@StephenWensley@mrdanwalker You think only a smattering of bored neutrals will be watching a Friday night 8pm kick off on the second day of the World Cup?
@jonathanbyn1@ChrisW1001@jfwduffield I don't think it's misleading or disingenuous. The trend is that more people are listening - which is good for the sport.
Fwiw I don't think it's anything to do with the quality of TMS. More working from home, falling Sky Sports subscriptions and enthralling India/Ashes tests
@jonathanbyn1@ChrisW1001@jfwduffield Obviously the Ashes are going to have higher listening figures than an India series??
The fact that the 2025 India series has the same amount of listeners as the 2019 Ashes, suggests that people haven't stopped listening at all.
He's just making it up.
@ChrisW1001@jfwduffield Not one bit. 14 million listeners for the 2025 series V India. Record breaking numbers listening to the 2023 Ashes, almost doubling the figures of 2019. Thats without even counting DAB, or 5 Live Extra. More people listen now than ever b4. John is talking absolute rubbish.
@Lowe_Profile_@Zonal_Marking It's not change. It's half arsed and utter rubbish. Commentary out of sync with the video, no crowd noise, commentators clearly back in the UK.
So bad I switched to the Australian commentary and that's saying something.
@ralexander100@henrywinter@Declancarr96 Then don't pay Newcastle's valuation and shut the fuck up about it? The price is the price. Either Liverpool pay it and he goes, or their valuation is different and he stays. Not much more to it.
