THE PARTITIONS WITHIN OUR INDEPENDENCE
An article by Ashlash Raina
THE PARTITIONS WITHIN OUR INDEPENDENCE
80 years of Independence.
A rising India.
And yet, a generation still carrying the consequences of displacement.
The Kashmiri Pandit story raises an uncomfortable question:
When does a migrant stop being a migrant, when the land is returned, or when a generation forgets why it had to leave?
This is not about reopening old wounds.
It is about asking what we do with the wounds that never healed.
India @ 80 deserves celebration. But perhaps it also deserves an honest reckoning.

A year from now, people may call this a success story.
Today, it's just a dream held together by faith, sleepless nights, and a handful of passionate people who refuse to quit.
No big studio. No big backing. Just a belief and passion to keep the regional (Kashmiri language) (comedy genre) cinema alive.
If you've ever fought for a dream nobody could see yet, you'll understand this feeling.
We're not giving up. And we’re not abandoning it.
And if this reaches the right person, maybe we won't have to.

This is totally false.
Not an iota of truth in this.
There is no question of putting such restrictions on foreign travel.
We remain committed to improving ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living’ for our people.
Maximum Temperatures (as on 26-04-2026): Maximum temperatures are in the range of 40-46℃ over most parts of the country except western Himalayan region, northeast Bihar, northeast India, where they are below 36℃.
The highest maximum temperature of 46.9°C was reported at #Akola (VIDARBHA).
The most elegant trap in politics is self inflicted, by rejecting the Constitutional (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026, the opposition split itself in two: one half forfeiting expanded representation, the other its claim to women’s empowerment.
It has to be understood from strategic learning perspective that the ruling party showed the class as in the subject of strategic political intelligence and opposition just succumbed to its ideological posture and supporting structural reforms inferiority.
The rejection has costed INDIA alliance dearly and severely.
BREAKING | Lok Sabha REJECTS the Constitutional (131st Amendment) Bill, 2026 which sought to expand the strength of the House from 543 to 850 seats and allow delimitation of seats based on pre-2026 Census.
This is where the real strategic advantage was played out by the Government. Now the corridors of parliament shall clear the air in coming days of the reflection of cracks in the opposition. India setting a very strong political precedent strategy by thoughtfully making the opposition members and parties in alliance to think about their vote and their decisions, reflecting their constituencies and the political cadre.
Opposition is celebrating the trap as a triumph, until it not too late that each one of the opposition discovers that only escape they’ve now demands the betraying the very alliance that made them cheer. You can see and hear that they are already negotiating their collapse in silence.
I would like to appeal to all Members of Parliament…
Please reflect upon your conscience, remembering the women in your own families.
The legislation to ensure women’s reservation in legislative bodies is a significant opportunity to do justice to women of our nation.
Please do not deprive our Nari Shakti of new opportunities.
If this amendment is passed unanimously, it will further empower the women of our country and strengthen our democracy.
Let us come together today to create history.
Let us ensure that the women of India, who are half of the nation’s population, receive their rightful due.
नीति की पराकाष्ठा तब है, जब विपक्षी गठबंधन अपने ही विनाश का समर्थन करे। 👇🏻
They laughed when the trap closed, because they thought it was a stage. Victory felt loud and realisation came later in silence and whispers.
By the time they’ll understand the damage, they would’ve already endorsed it and escape from it will now demand a price, which would cost the every members of this alliance to betray the very alliance they had built, in order to survive.
The opposition is celebrating their win in stopping the 131st Amendment Bill.
But they may have stepped into a textbook move by the government.
Government combined women’s reservation with seat changes, called for a vote they knew they couldn’t pass, and let the opposition took the bait for delaying more seats for women.
A short-term gain on seats for them. But a longer-term political blunder hatched by their own political pool of intellectuals incompetence has made a huge setback of opposition in political and public view.
A textbook case of political jujitsu by the ruling side, where the opposition’s “victory” lap might end up costing them dearly in the narrative war and electoral math ahead.
Opposition took the cosmetic, short-term trophy but ignored the optics trap where ruling party showed the highest strategic patience on the ruling side.
The opposition is high-fiving over the immediate block, but they may not fully see how this reframes the 2029 landscape.
The delimitation fight was always going to be zero-sum on federal lines; tying it to women’s quota flipped the script into a national values battle.
A well played example to learn from this about forcing the opposition to own the “no” on something broadly popular while claiming a regional shield. Long run, to opposition this could sting more than the short-term seat math suggests.

#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: Akshay Labroo, current Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Srinagar, says, "It is our immense good fortune that two young directors from our Kashmir, Siddharth and Ankit, have created a film based right here in Srinagar, titled 'Batt Koch'. The story centres on the city of Srinagar and a specific family; it is a deeply emotional tale. Today, they have finally arrived at the INOX Cinema in Srinagar to present their story. A massive crowd from our community has gathered here... to watch this film... we are all striving to lend our full support to this film..."
#WATCH | Srinagar, J&K: Speaking about his film 'Batt Koch,' Director Siddarth Koul says, "We are the directors of the film, and it was produced by Vinayak Razdan, who resides in Kochi... This story embodies the longing of a Kashmiri Pandit family and their deep emotional bond with their motherland. They yearn to return to Kashmir. The narrative revolves around whether or not they are able to return, and if they do, what experiences await them upon their arrival... It is our earnest hope, and indeed, the collective desire of our entire community, the Kashmiri Pandits, that we may return to our motherland..."
Director Ankit Wali says, "One's home is precious to everyone. However, when a person is compelled to leave their home, the memories associated with it remain with them forever... although we were born in Jammu, we retain an intrinsic connection with Kashmir. We may have only heard stories about it, yet that emotional bond remains deeply ingrained within us. Our parents, who once lived here, are now settled in Jammu because of various reasons, demonstrating through their actions just how profound their love for their home is and how desperately they wish to return..."
🔹Panic booking and hoarding were triggered by misinformation. The average domestic #LPG delivery cycle remains around two and a half days
🔹Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system has been implemented to prevent the diversion. This system requires customers to provide a code to the delivery person to successfully receive their cylinder
🔹As a temporary demand management measure, the minimum gap between LPG bookings has been increased from 21 days to 25 days

Government of India invokes the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, to regulate the availability, supply and equitable distribution of petroleum and petroleum products and natural gas
@ankitatIIMA and @aravind
The map of protests across India after Khamenei’s killing should concern anyone serious about national security.
This is not looking like a spontaneous outrage.
This is networked mobilization across 95+ locations.
If we Look closely at the clustering; Maharashtra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Kerala
These are not random dots. They indicate existing coordination ecosystems capable of rapid street activation. Meanwhile J&K and parts of UP appear to be the testing laboratories which are probing state response thresholds and institutional limits.
What we are witnessing resembles the emergence of a “0.5 front” internal pressure layer having a decentralized mobilization network operating below the threshold of conventional security triggers.
History shows how these patterns evolve as 0.5 to 1.0 and as @ankitatIIMA said it’s going 5.0
First ideological solidarity. Then street capacity.
AndThen synchronized unrest during a trigger event.
Democratic states struggle to counter such structures because they operate within legal ambiguity while building disruptive capability.
Is this why Maharashtra today looks like a sitting volcano?
Ignoring early signals is how internal fault lines eventually become national crises.
Strategic vigilance now will determine whether this remains 0.5 or grows into something far more dangerous.
What does your observational analysis say?
Credibility is the currency of journalism.
When major media outlets publish partisan narratives without even basic editorial disclaimers, it signals not oversight but institutional decay.
You’re witnessing a classic case In the information age, where a prominent media house compromised and becomes a tool of narrative warfare.
It undermines public trust and raises legitimate questions about bias, influence, and institutional integrity.

NatStrat’s authoritative body of literature grows with this important special feature on India’s strategic autonomy.
India possesses the ingredients to rise to great power status over the next three decades. Yet, it will face immense challenges along the way given the incentives of incumbents, constraints from technology gaps and the rapid evolution of security threats. India will have to build comprehensive national power at an exponential pace in an increasingly competitive, volatile and fractured world. This is many ways, unprecedented.
Success will be driven by strengthening indigenous capabilities and forging robust international partnerships. Defense production and technological innovation will mold the spear tip of hard power, a prerequisite for improving negotiating leverage. Natural resource and food security will prove critical for insulating against external shocks, which are increasingly coming hard and fast. Sovereign freedom to implement reforms will be essential for unleashing productive forces. Altogether, strategic autonomy will in large part, drive the transformation of India from a Middle Power to a Great Power.
Thoughts and views are shared on pages 75-83.
This narrative is deliberate attempt to spread misinformation by changing definitions to dismiss every program.
Let’s stick to the procurement record:
1. Frigates
Project-17A (7 stealth frigates): CCS approval Feb 2015 (₹45,000 crore).
This is a newgeneration frigate class ordered after 2014, built at MDL and GRSE.
MoD source:

2. Missile warships / corvette class combatants
Next Generation Missile Vessels: 6 ships
Contract signed March 2023 with Cochin Shipyard (₹9,805 crore).

3. Major naval fleet vessels
Fleet Support Ships: 5 vessels
CCS approval Aug 2023 (₹19,000 crore).

4. Corvettes
Next Generation Corvettes program progressing with shipyard selections (2025).
5. Submarines
Project-75I cleared and moving through acquisition stages for AIP submarines.
The claim is factual incorrect as per the Ministry of Defence procurement record which is public.
Naval procurement did not stop after 2014. Multiple new classes have been approved and contracted.
