Rutgers Student, Communication specialization in PR and minor in DCIM & Psychology, Graduating 2022. Looking to expand my experience in Marketing and Sales.
My final fall semester here at Rutgers University has been one I can not forget. Living on campus and being back in the classroom for the first time in a year and a half is amazing. It is an unforgettable semester so far, and my #DCIMCapstone course is a reason why.

@fee_lizzie@mrnesi Lizzie your points about conflict being positive are key to achieving healthy conflict with a team. Making sure everyone is heard makes the team more comfortable and conflict can be communicated more openly.
@sophiat_ru Virtual classes create more conflict and hinder resolving conflict because you can not hold someone accountable if you are not able to get in contact with them. I have been in very similar situations in classes and I agree that confronting them is the best decision.

3a.#ruvirtuals21 Preparation is vital because conflict is inevitable when working with many people in a team, and getting past the conflict requires management skills. To prepare, "the most important aspect … is to create a psychologically safe communication environment...

2c.#ruvirtuals21 is "ignore(ing) the issues or den(ying) that there is a problem" (167). Secondly, when working as a waitress, you have many responsibilities and steps to satisfy the customer you interact with the most. You rely on the chefs, hosts, managers, and others to...
2b.#ruvirtuals21 sound more cohesive. We clearly stated that we needed to express any comments to one another. We did not want to be trapped with ideas and avoid telling the group; all our names were on it, so we knew we had to be open to changes in our sections. Avoidance...
1e.#ruvirtuals21 collaborate and double-check any discrepancies. Collaboration can occur during conflict when the team works towards satisfying everyone because they respect each other (pg. 167). We felt satisfied once we had put any concerns to rest and came to a decision.
1a.#ruvirtuals21 My perspective of conflict has always been negative. After learning more about conflict management during my interpersonal communication course, I realized that it is beneficial in many scenarios. I have learned to understand...
1d.#ruvirtuals21 time-consuming task where we are conflicted about some numbers. If we did not address our conflicting perspectives, the problem would not have been resolved. The conflict was beneficial in the end for my team's accuracy. We took it upon ourselves to...
1c.#ruvirtuals21 initially will provide a better path for success. Small conflicts are crucial bumps that allow for a clearer understanding of the whole team's views. At my current job, I was given the task of counting inventory with my associate. This is a tedious and...
1b.#ruvirtuals21 "if the conflict is about legitimate differences of opinion about the team's task, then it is a healthy conflict" (p. 162). If a team did not discuss their opinions, they would have trouble with their group cohesion. Managing and resolving the conflict...
#RUVIRTUALS21 After taking the orientation quiz I scored highest on the Cooperative orientation style. I learned that competition is appropriate in times when there are external factors motivating the team. Though internal competition within a company can have negative impacts.
