@DrGonzalez8 As a mother of three, this hits close to home. Always see your kids as children and not little adults. Childhood sets the foundation in so many ways and it’s important for them to have a solid foundation as they grow up. Be gentle, be kind and listen. They are only little once.
McAllen ISD has launched a new exciting initiative called SuperTalk. SuperTalk is a videocast hosted by Superintendent Dr. J.A. Gonzalez. The first episode, featuring the six-time state champion McAllen High Mariachi Oro, will be released on McAllen ISD's social media platforms.
@DrGonzalez8 Empathy might not be a required part of your job, but, it’s a skill that must be incorporated in your daily tasks. As the article mentioned, “these individuals might not be the most popular or powerful, but they are the most connected.” Show empathy & be connected #mcallenisdchat
@DrGonzalez8@McAllenISD@CityofMcAllen A1: Powerful words. I agree that in order to conquer your fear, you need to embrace it. It’s the only way to get through it. Enthusiasm is contagious, it can spread like wildfire. To motivate your team be enthusiastic! #dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8@McAllenISD@CityofMcAllen A1: Your attitude makes life situations positive or negative. Have a positive attitude and have positive results, have a negative attitude and have negative results. Your attitude drives your results. You control this unless you give that control away. Stay in control! #dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8@McAllenISD@CityofMcAllen@shareamerica A1: My take away from this is do not dwell on the past and do not only focus on accomplishments and success. Be balanced and somewhere in-between. Focus on the now and “one play at a time.” @dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8@McAllenISD A1# Leadership to me is doing whatever it takes to lead a successful team to victory. Hard work, dedication and most importantly not giving up on yourself and your team is vital. #dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8@McAllenISD A1: It’s important to have discussions with students regarding kindness, especially at the elementary level. Group discussions and activities to encourage kindness. Have students do an act of kindness for other students and have them present on how it made them feel. #dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8@YouTube@McAllenISD What hit me the most about this video is when she said when you say something long enough it becomes a part of you. Keep telling yourself that you make a difference and you feel and believe it. Powerful message and so truthful! #dcmchat
@DrGonzalez8 A1: It relates to Emotional Intelligence because you need to be aware and in control of your leadership role. The way you lead your team shows the level of your Emotional Intelligence. #dcmchat

@DrGonzalez8#McAllenIsdChat This is powerful advice! It’s important to teach and make a lesson out of a mistake instead of just taking someone’s mistake and fixing it yourself. Very beneficial in the long run and your staff with feel supported.
@DrGonzalez8 A1: I’m so proud of all the accomplishments and success McAllen ISD has received. Amazing students, staff and Board of Trustees! Thank you for everyone’s dedication and hard work! 👍🏻 @mcallenisdchat
@DrGonzalez8 A1 That was tough to read. I sometimes find myself feeling guilty in the exact same way and have to remind myself that my kids are only 5 and 3. So I do my best to get on their level and be real and there for them at all times. #onesoulbookclub#mcallenisdchat
