Thomas county schools has hired an environmental company to monitor soil around school and air quality around school

Thomas County Emergency Management Agency and Thomas County Public Works have cleared Garrison-Pilcher Elementary School to reopen for school as normal tomorrow, Friday, April 20.

You can see the liquid in the ditch has a red tint to it. Doesn't look like much but it's now down in the soil and spilled into the creek in the woods.

IMPORTANT NOTE: ALL STUDENTS ARE SAFE! The evacuation was prompt & went smooth.Bus drivers were able to get students off campus

The spill was not on the campus, but the evacuation is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of our students. No other Thomas County schools have been affected at this time.
