Took a week off the app after the election. I thought the tension would’ve died down a little by now. Out of all the apps this is the most chaotic and depressing.
Praying for all my fellow black people who work in corporate America, who have to walk/log into work today and be the only black face in the room. Days like this are mentally and emotionally exhausting.
I'm proud of Vice President Kamala Harris. The election results aren't a reflection of her, it is a reflection of what this country is. I'm at peace because whatever happens from here is exactly what this country signed up.
A red senate, red house, red SCOTUS, and red executive branch. I don’t think people are understanding how much this is going to impact EVERYONE’s future.
And when Black people say, “We have to be twice as good to get half” this is EXACTLY what we mean. America, you did not surprise me, you just showed us who you really are. #Election2024
Black women, please do not protest for anything or anyone other than yourselves, if necessary. Please do not overextend yourselves. Please do not exude grace. Do your best to protect and uplift yourselves, and hold steady.
The most qualified candidate in history lost to a sadistic racist reality star. You cannot make this stuff up. This should be on a tv show, not real life.
America failed women tonight. Trump bullied, assaulted, and stripped reproductive rights away from women all across the country and instead of standing against it, many voted for it. We have failed our daughters, mothers, and sisters.
Do NOT panic during this first part of the evening.
Rural counties report first because they have fewer votes to count -- tends to result in Republicans coming out to early leads.
Democratic count tends to come in later in the evening.
Keep Kamala and carry on a la.
Lisa Blunt Rochester won election to the U.S. Senate from Delaware, becoming the state's first Black and first woman to serve in the role.
She is the fourth-ever Black woman to serve in the Senate.
