Even before fixing the age, let's fix the curriculum, teaching methodologies, infrastructure and other such issues which have a huge impact on the quality of education but no one is bothered about that. You are looking at an easy way out.

Though in Haryana, even though the circular was issued in Jan 23, the kids who were admitted prior to that in Nursery or KG are not being allowed to move to class 1. Unfair.

@saurabhmathur99 @SchoolEduChd @mlkhattar @cmohry Primary concern is the age criteria getting implemented for Class 1 for private schools whereas it should have been implemented for Nursery or Montessori 1 as that is when new admission happens. Pls reconsider it for Nursery admissions sir. Thank you!

The students who can't move to class 1 because of the new criteria have already completed the syllabus till KG like others but will have to spend another year in Montessori which would not add much value to them.

What is the rush to implement only the age criteria recommended per #NEP when the implementation of all the other recommendations per the policy are yet to take shape completely and schools are still trying to come to terms with the requirements? 1/3

The age criteria should have been set for Nursery admissions for the private schools and class 1 for the government ones for the academic session 2024-25. This would have ensured a smooth implementation process for the schools and would have been fair to the parents and students.

Those in private schools, as they were admitted in Nursery based on the earlier age criteria however, can't move to class 1 now because of the new age criteria.

The age criteria circular for class 1 in Haryana sent dated 11th Sep 23 makes it mandatory for the schools to have only students above the age of 6 moved to class 1 with a relaxation of 6 months for academic session 2024-25. This seems rushed because the students, especially, 2/3
