|| Ancient Indian Scientific Advancements: Unveiling the Forgotten Legacy ||

European visitors to India were astonished by the local customs, including tree worship and the veneration of an idol depicting a naked man adorned with snakes. Initially puzzled and amused, they later delved into our scriptures and were amazed by their profound knowledge. They continue to research and explore the remarkable discoveries made by our ancestors through these scriptures, Although we never got proper credit for our amazing knowledge. Let's talk about the knowledge and technologies we had-

1. The Value of pi was known by us- The documented history states that Lambert proved the irrationality of pi in 1760. However, it was actually Aryabhatta, an Indian mathematician, who worked on pi and demonstrated its irrationality. In 499 CE, at the age of 23, Aryabhatta determined the value of pi to be 3.1416 with the assistance of Vedic knowledge.

2. The science of Chemistry- This knowledge was known as "Rasashala" in ancient India and witnessed significant progress. Archeological excavations at Takshila revealed evidence of alcohol distillation, showcasing advancements in this field. Nagarjuna, a master in Indian Alchemy-Rasashala, made remarkable contributions. A laboratory depicting the utilization of various Yantras for chemical purposes, such as distillation, was discovered, indicating the advanced nature of this science.

3. Science behind the eclipses- While the rest of the world held various superstitious beliefs and associated paranormal events with eclipses, the Vedas provided a rational and scientific explanation for this celestial phenomenon. Furthermore, ancient Indian knowledge acknowledged that the moon is not self-illuminating. In addition, our understanding of astronomy allowed us to accurately predict the precise dates of eclipses, a skill that remains entirely relevant in today's world. 4. Wootz steel- Wootz stee, an innovative steel alloy, was developed in Southern India, particularly by the Cheras. This crucible steel had a distinctive pattern of bands and was known by various names in the ancient world, including ukku, Hindvi steel, Hinduwani steel, and more. It was highly valued for its use in crafting formidable weapons and swords capable of effortlessly slicing through a free-falling silk cloth or wooden block with equal swiftness.

5. The theory of atom- Rishi Kannad is said to have pioneered the atomic theory, predating the birth of Dalton by centuries. According to his theories, he proposed the existence of "aru," the indivisible particle that cannot be destroyed. He further postulated that an "aru" could exist in two states: absolute rest and a state of motion. Additionally, Rishi Kannad asserted that "aru" particles of the same substance combine with one another in a specific and synchronized manner to form "Dvyanuka" (diatomic molecules) and "Tryanuka" (triatomic molecules). His profound insights into the atomic nature of matter showcase a remarkable understanding of fundamental particles long before Dalton's time. 6. Knowledge about Gravity- Indian were not only aware about the gravity but, also did scientific researches on it. Rishi Kannad, Rishi Varahamihira, Aryabhatta, Bhashkarachrya etc did a lot of work in the field of gravity and they named gravity as “GURUTVA AKARSHANA SHAKTI”. The word ‘Gurutva’ means ‘mass’ and ‘Aakarshana’ means ‘attractive pull’. ( Will write a detailed thread om our contribution towards the gravity).

7. 1st to acknowledge solar system- world give credits to copernicus for the concept of solar system but actually, it has been clearly mentioned in our rig vedas that sun is a centre & all planet revolves around it in a fixed orbit. We were the one who explained the relation of Earth revolution and change in weather.

8. Knowledge of Areoplanes- Even if we neglect the mention of Vimanas in Ramayana for a while, Still we were the one who not only had all the knowledge of Aeroplane but also we were the one who flew the first areoplance, before the Wright brothers. Thanks to rishi Agaastya and Rishi Bhardwaj, who have mentioned a lot of theories, designs of Vimana. Both rishis have been metioned in Ramayan and Mahabharata. ( will write a detailed thread on it too).

9. Incredubke knowledge in the field of Medical science- Do I need to mention, What Rishi Sushrut and Archraya Charak did in the field ogf medical? Rishi Sushrut have mentioned about the disease, medicine, plastic surgery and I hope you all know about it. Bu, yes, you might not be aware of the depth of the knowledge they had, will write a thread on it too.

There are many more things which could be added to this list but, that is it for today. I will keep sharing more and more such things.
