This is my son Taber. Starting as a D1 - SS at 141 pounds as a freshman in college (not that many years ago). They beat the Tar Heels 1-0 that day. How do you play D1 at 5’8” 140? You overcome a ton of doubters and go out daily and outplay your competition. You become a complete player. You find an opportunity onto a team and once you get there, you prove you are the best option for the coach in order to win games. The vast majority of coaches want to win. So even if you are smaller, you will play if you are the best option. Likely take longer for people to figure it out, including the coach. But as I said… earlier, the cream rises to the top.
