6/25 - My first ever ultramarathon. 33 miles down the Northumberland coastline, with all the feels (good and bad π ). What an experience, and what a gift from the weather gods.
5th run event of 2025 - A mud bath of a trail marathon at Shipley Country Park. A huge treat to do the first few laps with Keira after so much time out with injury π
5 hours on my feet and the terrain was a slog but was encouraged to still feel strong at the finish!
1/25: Tatton Park 10k on Saturday with @RunThroughUK - the first of 25 planned run events in 2025 (yep, I'm doing this π€―π).
Finished in 52:53 despite being terrified of the icy patches, which I'm pretty chuffed with.
@RunThroughUK Hello, not sure if this account is being monitored out of hours, but is the Tatton 10k still going ahead in the morning, given all the other weather-related cancellations around?
Questioned my life choices whilst shivering at the start of today's hilly and cold Slaley Hall trail half marathon in Northumberland - but it's ticked off, and my legs will forgive me eventually!
#RunningAt40
This is 40... and like the weirdo that I am these days, I decided to celebrate by running 22 miles around Durham π So nice to be joined by my sis for the first 13 of them and lovely that everyone stopped to observe the silence at 11am.
Getting old isn't all that bad ;-)
There's been a fantastic amount of news coverage in the run-up to #PHDayUK, thanks to our wonderful members sharing their stories. Column inches have been secured across the UK, including this piece in The Mirror - raising valuable awareness of PH: https://t.co/YlExCRnGfr
26.2 wet and windy miles at the #yorkshiremarathon today. So much better than any other city road race I've done - less like sardines (although the toilet queues never change π )
I'll be back!
Households across the whole of Wales were able to learn more about PH last night, thanks to national coverage on ITV News. Watch PHA UK member Anna and our Chair Dr Iain Armstrong chat to reporters ahead of #PHDayUK: https://t.co/PLNbrVuMQm
Anna Bowen from Llandysul is one of around 8,000 people who live with Pulmonary Hypertension in the UK. The high blood pressure condition is life limiting and she wants better specialist care for it in Wales. See more of her story here: https://t.co/aBcmbhcucN
First trail event with @RunThroughUK at the weekend and it didn't disappoint. Beautiful Peak District, brutal terrain, and another experience ticked off βοΈ
Rebecca was diagnosed with #PH as a child & it's now almost one year since her life-saving double lung and heart transplant.
She tells her story in our special new film, to mark the start of #OrganDonationWeek.

On Monday we had the pleasure of meeting and filming with PHA UK member Cherise - a mental health nurse who lives with CTEPH and who is sharing her story for PH Day UK.
Cherise articulated her experiences candidly & honestly, and her voice will make a difference.
Raby Castle in Darlington was the stunning setting for today's Wild Deer Events trail run- 15 miles of fields and forest, topped off with lunch with old uni friends and their little ones at the finish πββοΈπ¦
I first interviewed Alysha in 2019, shortly after she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, so it felt really special to go back to Coventry & film with her again yesterday.
It's not easy to talk about things this personal on camera, and she did a wonderful job.
Yesterday, PHA UK member Alysha kindly spoke to us on camera about her experiences of transitioning onto IV therapy. By opening up about overcoming challenges & how she is learning to see her pump as a friend, she hopes to help other young women - video coming soon!
A tough but beautiful 15 miles with Wild Deer Events up at @LambtonCastle on Sunday. I'm definitely being converted to trail races - so much more relaxed than city centre road events (and shorter queues for the portaloos!) πββοΈ
