It is an honour to receive the Diamond Jubilee Medal from H.E. @KagutaMuseveni the President of Uganda.
I dedicate this to my mother, may she rest in peace, who believed in education as a pathway to opportunity.
I must also express gratitude towards my workmates with whom we have struggled for a decade to keep the promise alive, and to serve Uganda’s oil and gas sector, advancing EACOP, securing key agreements, and supporting the journey to First Oil. 🇺🇬
To the good people of Ndorwa County West, i sincerely thank you and I pledge my total support as your new MP - Elect-2026-2031. I will preach unity and lobby for developmental projects for our people. In God we trust.
OPEN LETTER TO THE NRM SECRETARY GENERAL
Subject: Concern Over Hon. Minister David Bahati’s Continued Tenure as NRM Kabale District Chairman While Running as an Independent Candidate
Dear Rt. Hon. Secretary General,
We, the undersigned members and supporters of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), wish to express our deep concern over the unfolding situation in Kabale District involving Hon. Minister David Bahati.
It has come to our attention that Hon. Bahati, despite choosing to contest as an independent candidate, has not resigned from his position as the NRM District Chairman for Kabale. Even more troubling are reports that he continues to use party structures and district executive members to mobilize support for his independent candidature, while allegedly de-campaigning the officially endorsed NRM flag bearers in the region.
This situation poses a serious challenge to the principles of party discipline, loyalty, and internal democracy which have long defined the strength of the NRM. It also risks confusing the electorate and weakening the morale of loyal party cadres who have stood firmly behind the NRM flag and its official candidates.
Furthermore, Hon. Bahati’s continued leadership of the district structures while running as an independent has created a precedent that encourages other independents to defy party directives. Many now cite his example as justification for remaining in the race against NRM flag bearers.
In light of these developments, we humbly and respectfully call upon the Office of the Secretary General to:
1. Clarify Hon. Bahati’s standing within the NRM in light of his independent candidature.
2. Direct him to step aside from the position of NRM Kabale District Chairman if he intends to continue running independently.
3. Reaffirm party structures in Kabale to fully support and campaign for the officially endorsed NRM flag bearers.
The NRM’s legacy and strength have always been rooted in unity, discipline, and respect for party processes. Allowing this situation to persist unchecked would not only undermine these values but also weaken the Movement’s credibility ahead of the coming elections.
We trust in your leadership and the commitment of the Secretariat to uphold the integrity of our great party and ensure a level playing field for all loyal members who stand by the NRM flag.
For God and My Country.
Yours faithfully,
