One of the most painful experience I have ever felt was when I went to Abuja last month

I requested uber from my apartment to get food. Trip cost was 2500 naira.

Uber guy arrived and decided to branch filling station to buy fuel before heading to destination… He asked for 5k fuel and I was quite surprised he asked for a fuel that small considering his tank was empty empty. I asked him why so and he said country is hard and he was struggling.

So I asked the fuel guys to fill up his tank which cost approx 70k. In addition to that I also gave him 50k as a gift. He told me I should always feel free to contact him if I ever need a ride and I asked if he was free next day cos my flight was for 7am. He said sure.

Next day he picked me up and dropped me off and to my greatest suprise man asked me to pay double the fare to airport because ‘he picked me up early’

My life flashed twice.

I couldn’t believe what I heard.

Humans are ungrateful and tbh everyday I am reminded that the major reason some people are far from their blessings is simply because they are unwilling to make sacrifices or just simply pain greedy.

Till today I still have that flashback and I get angry over again when I remember it. Not exactly angry because of the money given because I mean I did so with zero expectation and will do so again and again but because it hurts soo much that said young man just lost a beautiful opportunity to know me better and probably get an opportunity to work with me beyond that day.

How to be a valuable creator on X

I'll keep it simple.

Unfortunately, most people who try to create content on X, do it all wrong.

Its not from lack of trying or having the tools, but its for one basic reason, which is;

your lack of vision.

(especially now, when there's a big dollar amount attched to it)

The vision to convey the information, in a digestible manner, to a large majority of readers consuming the information.

A lot of you forget that everyone on X isn't a genius, nor should they be one, because it is a social app, afterall.

but,

one thing remains constant, when it comes to what people aim to see here, and that is; the value embedded in your content.

This is where majority of those aiming to be creators, get it wrong.

We talk about "value" on a day to day basis, but that concept, seems to be ignored sometimes, or even blatantly disregarded sometimes.

This usually happens, when the content you put out, is solely from a place of self interest, without considering the POV of the person who would eventually read the information you put out, after you hit "Post".

So how's the best way to go about being a valuable content creator?

- pick an area of focus (niche)
This area has to be so broad, that there's no way you can stop creating content around it. That way, it becomes a constant stream of information.

- post everything publicly.
while you're growing, you have no business having a private group or subs only group where you share "alpha" when you''ve not proven that you're good at what you do. You're not the messiah.

- write content daily.
It doesn't always have to be long form, but show up.
- Engage with other creators and reply guys you repect, who also support you constantly.
Don't underestimate the power of a good reply guy or fellow creator in this space. It helps.

- reply more. Obviously.
Not that AI generated cr@p, I'm talking genuine thoughtful or witty replies, but bear in mind if your content isn't good, your replies mean nothing, in the grnad scheme of things.
This is simply because your replies, are a medium to get more eyeballs on you, to get people to visit your page. When they do, what will the see? Think about it!

- Don't be in a haste to monetize early.
You need to know what works for you and what the algo likes. Plus if you try to monetize, along trying to grow, it often limits your growth and reach. There are ways to do it stealthly to avoid getting in a battle with the algorithm.

Experiment with the content, and have fun with a little banger posts, every now and then, don't be so stiff bro. People want to be reminded that you're human too.

Have passion projects you can use to educate your audience, that can eventually make them money.

We all love money.

It could be DeFi related topics or an upcoming airdrop.
For me I'm always intersted in airdrops on the Solana ecosystem, like Oro, Titan, @solsticefi and a couple others, and I put out guides on how to help people utilize their funds, properly to get the most out of the SLX airdrop, via LPs on Raydium, Orca and Exponent.

You can also leverage the current hyped meta of infoFi, to build and solidify your presence, but not in a spammy manner.

Its not easy to put out for others to understand, but it can and must be done.

All these things are valuable to more people than they give you credit for, but over time, you grow, make money and the people who follow you, make money too. Win win.

That 's what this space is about.

We can all feed off eachother's energy and contributions to win, on our individual levels.

Oh yeah, one last thing

Please make your artwork fancy. We're all tired of artworks, that look like they were made in Corel Draw version 2001. You can learn Photoshop and utilize ChatGPT and get all these skills in 2 weeks max, but a lot of youstill won't do it.

And that's okay.

We can't all be real creators.
