Casket gasket is moot a vault. More meaningful in a grave liner, but may rupture over time. Just delays things getting in the casket.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

In Funeral merchandise, more expensive doesn't always mean better. Grave Liner to Vault = worth the $. Strentex vs. ABS = not worth the $.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

Any FD who uses 'hard-sell' phrases is just looking to make $. Good FDs will make recommendations that fit your desires AND budget!

Sorry about the hiatus! Now to continue debunking the #ReadersDigest article (skipping refrigeration for now).

Rental caskets are a great option for #cremation. Not generally used for burial, but could work, especially green and/or no vault burials.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

Caskets online look nice & are cheaper, but lower grade materials. Analogy: Oakley vs. Fauxkley sunglasses. You pay more for the real thing.

Until someone asks a question, I am just responding to the #ReadersDigest article about things your FD won't tell you. Tell people I'm here!

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

I love telling families that burial is free at VA Cems. It's a beautiful option. Not free. The Vets paid for it, sometimes with their lives.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

Prepaying for funeral should lock in prices. Make sure it is in trust/insurance/etc., not in the bank account of the funeral home. Safer.

@steinandsons Thanks for the follow!

“@NurseIdaMayB:...I open up bodies and embalm them...” Except for autopsy cases, embalming is done through small incisions, about 2 inches.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

@CastorTroy06 America has the best modern embalming practices. The same is done in and around Great Britain, just different chemicals.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

@readersdigest Your article has some major flaws...ask this funeral director for the real deal (or at least what ethical FDs do!)

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

@SherrieGG This Funeral Director will tell you everything. Ask me questions - #ReadersDigest got a lot of that wrong.

[Funeral Director @AskAFuneralDir]

@iheartjmichelle For the most part, it goes back to corporate greed. For some, it's more about sales than helping people who are grieving.
