In 1991, PVNR took a stand to implement IMF’s plan and liberalise. He wanted to end what was ailing India and if it went against the Congress leadership and Gandhi clans plan of keeping India poor, so be it.

This was a major reason of grouse b/w PVNR and “first family”.

India did not take IMF bailout in 1991 alone.

India had gone to IMF 6 times before for a loan all in Congress tenure itself right from 1952 to 1991.

@pun_fact 100%, recently visited Golden Temple, from taking pictures to covering head to sitting facing the water etc. etc. there are so many rules now “Forced” down the throats of devotees by “lath” bearing bouncers. We left without even queuing for the temple & swore never to go again.
